Early Head Start is a free parent & child program serving families in LaSalle, QC! Come join us at Early Head Start!

We work to foster early childhood education & development in a fun, safe atmosphere- before children even start school! Located at C.A.D.R.E LaSalle, our program serves parents and children 0-5 years old free of charge and provides a safe, nurturing, educational, and stimulating environment. Our program provides an opportunity for each child to develop physically, socially, and cognitively according to their individual learning styles before even reaching school age! We allow children to express themselves through play, language, creativity, and movement in a safe yet fun environment, while creating memories and building early friendships.

🎃👻 **Halloween Fun and Learning at Daycare!** 🧡🖤

Our little learners enjoyed Halloween activities, including decorating pumpkin and ghost cookies, colouring masks, and completing a number worksheet. 🎃

🍪🎨 These activities built fine motor skills, creativity, hand-eye coordination, and colour recognition. The worksheet supported early numeracy, while cookie decorating encouraged self-expression and festive fun.

Learning is more exciting through play! 🧡👻🎃

🎃👻 **Learning Through Play at Early Head Start!** 🧡

Our little learners enjoyed two fun, hands-on activities that encouraged creativity, exploration, and learning! 🥰

🧻 **Mummy Marble Painting:** The children placed marbles and paint inside a cardboard box with a mummy shape and rolled the marbles around to create unique patterns. This exciting activity helped develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and creativity! 🎨

🔤 **Alphabet Tracing:** Our little learners also practiced tracing the letters A to Z, helping build early literacy skills, letter recognition, and pencil control.

✨ Through play, children learn to explore, experiment, and develop important skills while having fun. Every little activity is an opportunity to learn and grow! 💕

Today, our little learners explored letter recognition and pre-writing skills by tracing the letter **A for Ant**! 🐜 This activity helps develop early literacy, pencil control, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.

We also enjoyed a colourful painting activity using different colours and cookie cutters to create unique prints! 🎨 The children explored colours, shapes, textures, and patterns while expressing their creativity and using their imagination.

Today, the children used a **toilet paper roll** to stamp colourful leaves onto their tree trunks. This simple, hands-on activity encouraged **fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, and colour recognition**.🍁

🔤 **Leaf Letter Activity:** We practiced recognizing and identifying letters while strengthening early literacy skills. The children used markers to find and circle letters, helping build **letter recognition, visual attention, and pencil control**.

🎃 **Pumpkin Science Experiment!** 🧪

Today, the children explored a fun **pumpkin fizzing experiment**! They used droppers to add **vinegar** to the pumpkin and watched it **fizzle and bubble**. 🫧

This hands-on science activity helped children develop **curiosity, observation skills, fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and early STEM concepts** while learning about cause and effect.
