We're thrilled to share Carol for a Cure raised over $12,000 for breast cancer research!

What started as a way to support Rochelle during her treatment has grown into a beautiful community tradition. Every donation, every share, every person who stopped to listen made a difference.

Thank you for standing with us — for 15 years and counting!

$10,000!!!!!!!
Thank you to everyone who supported Team RockStarr's 2024 Carol for a Cure in December! With more than 90 donors, we raised $10,000!

This will support the Dr. Catalin Mihalcioiu Research and Care Fund at the Fondation du Cancer des Cèdres / Cedars Cancer Foundation to help fuel liquid biopsy research at the MUHC. It's a groundbreaking tool that lets cancer treatment be tracked in real time and a tumor detected in a less invasive way with a blood test.

Thanks again for your ongoing support! And a huge round of applause to everyone who donated, sang and supported the 14th Annual event in memory of Rochelle!

If you haven’t already, there is still time so please consider making an online donation today: https://shorturl.at/cpeOy

2022 should have been “Carol for a Cure”s Bar Mitzvah 13th year.
Unfortunately, people plan and God laughs! For many reasons, it was impossible for the Team RockStarr’s choir to assemble this year in front of National Foods on Sherbrooke Street to sing our hearts out in memory of Rochelle.

Zoë and Scott very recently added Ember Sage to their family;
Karen had a double knee replacement a few weeks ago, so her husband Rick, our Choirmaster is her full time caregiver;
and of course, there is still the matter of Covid, Flu and RSV to contend with this year!

A few people have already donated again this year and have encouraged me to re-post past memories and a link for 2022 donations to Fondation du Cancer des Cèdres / Cedars Cancer Foundation. They explained that “Carol for a Cure“ has become a Christmas giving tradition and that I shouldn’t break that, just because we’re not singing this year.

Online donations go to Cedars Cancer Foundation to support research by Rochelle’s oncologist, Dr. Catalin Mihalcioiu, a scientist from the Cancer Research Program at the Research Institute of the MUHC and an assistant professor of Medicine at McGill University. His research focuses on Liquid Biopsies.

It's been 12 years since we started Carol for a Cure – and not even a pandemic will stop us from raising money for breast cancer research. This year, thanks to the creativity of Choirmaster Rick, the longstanding tradition will go on! Tune in to hear from veteran choir members and watch highlights from last year's virtual event.

After such a difficult year for so many, we hope this festive season can be a time to focus on celebrating family, friends and the moments that bring joy. We're thrilled to share our Virtual Carol for a Cure raised $8,000! While we could not sing together in the wind and snow – more than 90 generous donors supported the online event – a record breaking number for us!

This money will support the Dr. Catalin Mihalcioiu Research and Care Fund at the Cedars Cancer Foundation to help fuel liquid biopsy research at the MUHC.

It's a groundbreaking tool that lets cancer treatment be tracked in real time and a tumor detected in a less invasive way with a blood test.

Thank you for advancing this important cause in our shared goal of ending cancer. We look forward to (hopefully) seeing you next year!
