2022 should have been “Carol for a Cure”s Bar Mitzvah 13th year.
Unfortunately, people plan and God laughs! For many reasons, it was impossible for the Team RockStarr’s choir to assemble this year in front of National Foods on Sherbrooke Street to sing our hearts out in memory of Rochelle.
Zoë and Scott very recently added Ember Sage to their family;
Karen had a double knee replacement a few weeks ago, so her husband Rick, our Choirmaster is her full time caregiver;
and of course, there is still the matter of Covid, Flu and RSV to contend with this year!
A few people have already donated again this year and have encouraged me to re-post past memories and a link for 2022 donations to Fondation du Cancer des Cèdres / Cedars Cancer Foundation. They explained that “Carol for a Cure“ has become a Christmas giving tradition and that I shouldn’t break that, just because we’re not singing this year.
Online donations go to Cedars Cancer Foundation to support research by Rochelle’s oncologist, Dr. Catalin Mihalcioiu, a scientist from the Cancer Research Program at the Research Institute of the MUHC and an assistant professor of Medicine at McGill University. His research focuses on Liquid Biopsies.
