Call for Submissions: Museon Incubator for Emerging Trans, Nonbinary and Gender Expansive Creators
Artists
Deadline: July 5, 2025
Innovations en concert invites submissions for the inaugural Museon Incubator for Emerging Trans, Nonbinary and Gender Expansive Creators—a new sound-based program supporting artists who identify as transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, or gender-diverse.
This project champions emerging sound creators, composers, experimental musicians, and artists working with audio in any form—including performances, recordings, installations, electronic compositions, sound art, and beyond.
The residency offers:
- A flexible creation period from Fall 2025 to Spring 2026, defined by your project’s needs
- Financial support including fees, production expenses, and travel/accommodation, to a maximum of $3500
- Mentorship, production assistance, and promotional support
- Optional public presentation or dissemination through Innovations en concert
We welcome proposals from artists across Canada. International applicants may be considered depending on feasibility. Collective or collaborative projects are welcome, as long as the lead applicant identifies as trans / nonbinary / gender expansive.
To apply, submit:
- A project description (max 750 words)
- A short bio or CV
- If desired, a video or audio version of the project description and/or artist bio, maximum 5 minutes, to encourage diversity of culture/capacity
- 1–3 work samples (audio, video, or other documentation)
- A simple budget (including any anticipated travel/accommodation needs)
Deadline: July 5, 2025 at 11:59pm (EDT)
Submit via: [[email protected]]
A leadership panel drawn from Montreal’s trans / nonbinary / gender expansive arts community will assess proposals based on artistic content, clarity of vision, and feasibility.
This residency is made possible with the support of the Museon Fund for Creativity and is administered by Innovations en concert.
