To mark the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief on August 22, the UN Special Rapporteur has sent a video message to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), highlighting the urgent need to defend freedom of religion or belief for everyone.

“Civil society plays a crucial role in combating these violations, defending the humanity and equality of victims regardless of their religious affiliation or beliefs.”

Colombia was struck yesterday, August 10, by a powerful earthquake.
At this difficult time, Aid to the Church in Need invites our friends and benefactors to keep the people of Colombia in their prayers, especially the victims, the injured, grieving families, and all those affected by this disaster.
Let us also pray for the emergency workers and all those providing assistance and comfort to the affected communities.

Sign our petition! In Pakistan and India, religious minorities, including Christians, face increasing violence simply because they belong to a different faith and religious tradition. Pray that these minorities may find peace, and pray for their persecutors—that they may also find peace in their hearts and put an end to the violence. Pray and sign the petition—it’s essential!
