ACN - Aid to the Church in Need Praying ● Informing ● Giving
Aid to the Church in Need (ACN) is pontifical charity: supporting poor and persecuted Christians around the world since 1947.

Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), founded in 1947 by Father Werenfried van Straaten, is a Pontifical charity whose mission is to provide assistance to Catholics wherever the Church suffers from poverty and/or persecution. Over the last 70 years, the international charity has grown to include offices in 22 countries worldwide, including one in Canada. Together, we collect funds from benefactors allo

To mark the International Day Commemorating the Victims of Acts of Violence Based on Religion or Belief on August 22, the UN Special Rapporteur has sent a video message to Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), highlighting the urgent need to defend freedom of religion or belief for everyone.

“Civil society plays a crucial role in combating these violations, defending the humanity and equality of victims regardless of their religious affiliation or beliefs.”

Colombia was struck yesterday, August 10, by a powerful earthquake.
At this difficult time, Aid to the Church in Need invites our friends and benefactors to keep the people of Colombia in their prayers, especially the victims, the injured, grieving families, and all those affected by this disaster.
Let us also pray for the emergency workers and all those providing assistance and comfort to the affected communities.
Our Lady of Chiquinquirá, Patroness of Colombia, pray for them.

Sign our petition! In Pakistan and India, religious minorities, including Christians, face increasing violence simply because they belong to a different faith and religious tradition. Pray that these minorities may find peace, and pray for their persecutors—that they may also find peace in their hearts and put an end to the violence. Pray and sign the petition—it’s essential! Religious freedom is a human right, not a privilege.

Could a similar story unfold in Nigeria, where nearly two million people have been forced to flee for their lives? The local Church, together with Aid to the Church in Need, believes it can. https://bit.ly/4hNyXX5
