Currently there isn't a universal hearing screening program in Montreal that is targeted at primary

Hearing plays an important role in the development of speech and communication skills in children. Undiagnosed hearing loss in childhood interferes with normal social, emotional, and cognitive development. Unfortunately, there is no universal hearing-screening program for children in elementary schools and hearing impairments can often go undetected.

Join Kids2Hear for a resident-led otoscopy workshop! We’ll cover ear anatomy and common ear pathologies, followed by a hands-on session to practice your otoscopy skills. More details will be shared with registered participants soon.

A big thank you to our VP Volunteer Sarah and to our volunteers Ninell, Megha, Shreya, Sophia and Emily who made our first school visit at Sourp Hagop successful 🎉💙

We were able to screen approximately 120 children for hearing loss using our tablet-based audiometry game! 🎧📱

🌟Reminder - Volunteering Opportunity🌟

Interested in pediatrics, ENT and/or family medicine? Interested in visiting elementary schools and screening for hearing loss in children? Join the Kids2Hear crew for a unique experience in detecting hearing loss through our iPad-based audiometer. We are restarting school visits this winter semester - after a hiatus since the start of the pandemic - and are looking forward to expanding the team!

🌟 If you are a medical student or a Med-P interested in pediatrics/ENT/family medicine or if you just want to help us reach our goals by volunteering to visit schools, you should definitely come to our Volunteer & Otoscope Training Event which will be led by an ENT resident, Dr. Jennifer Silver. This will be a session where we will train our volunteers who would like to help us with school visits. We will also have a hands-on session where you will learn how to do an otoscopy exam.
