We at Toastmasters HEC have worked very hard to provide a welcoming and safe place to go out of your comfort zone and g
ain valuable experience. Toastmasters HEC is a club founded by the school MBA association but is open to everyone, students or not. In fact, our club benefits from its rich diversity. We are a bilingual club, French and English, representing the Quebec province's reality well. You are free to express yourself in the language of your choice at any moment. Understanding both languages is best. A typical meeting is split into two main sections. The first is the prepared speech, where members have reserved a spot to present in advance. The second section is the Table Topic, an open discussion requiring no preparation where members and guests are invited to participate. Feedback is openly shared throughout the meeting so everyone can benefit from the learnings. We meet twice a month: the first and third Tuesdays of every month from 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm in person at HEC. You are invited and encouraged to visit us at any meeting before becoming an official member. It will give you an opportunity to see if this club is right for you. All the Toastmasters clubs are under the umbrella of Toastmasters International. The fee the become a member includes the basic fee of Toastmasters International + the club fees, if any (for example, room reservation). We at Toastmasters HEC only charge the basic fees, which are 60$ USD for a 6-month session. If you sign up in the middle of a session, the fees will be adjusted according to the time left. First-time members of Toastmasters have a one-time fee of 20$ USD for their training development guide, which is called a Pathway. It includes documentation, exercises and assignments to support your development. We have a wonderful team and our members leave with a smile on their face and a feeling of accomplishment after each event. Now is the second best time to invest in your communication.
