Today was really meaningful. We started at the border area where border patrol had been stationed—tragically, it was attacked on October 7th and lives were lost. After that, we visited a police station, and finally, we went to the Nova site. It was tough emotionally, but our group really stuck together, and that helped us feel a bit stronger. We took in a lot, and it meant a lot.

Honestly, walking through Florentin today felt like stepping into a completely different world. There’s something so powerful about seeing an entire neighborhood use its walls to speak, to process, and to share their stories. Just standing there with everyone under the blazing sun, looking at how much raw emotion and history is poured into every single piece of art, it really hits you. Definitely one of those days that stays with you long after you walk away.

After a long day of travel, we finally arrived in Israel. Today we had a day filled with new memories and adventures. We started off the day with a hike of Sataf, which is near Jerusalem. After that, we had a delicious lunch in an Arab village. Our host Yasmine showed us a new side to Israel. Afterwards, we had a great time in Bat Yam where we learned how to surf with HaGal Sheli. We got to make friends With the surf instructors. We went back to the hotel to have a delicious dinner. Shout out shahar.

Last weekend, our fellows planned and built their own Leadership Shabbaton!
Rachel Rose, one of the fellows told us about her experience: “I recently had the opportunity to attend our cohort’s leadership Shabbaton, where we were tasked with planning the entire weekend. From scheduling to religious activities and post shabbat games, everything was up to us! This experience taught us valuable skills in time management and budgeting. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, even more than the previous one! I’m eagerly looking forward to the next Shabbaton! So excited”🩵

Yesterday was our fourth workshop!☀️During it, we explored the concept of Tikkun Olam and volunteered together. One of the fellows Jayme shares-
“Today we had an incredible day at MDA challah baking. Volunteering for our community was truly meaningful, and it was wonderful to bond and connect as a cohort. The experience was both fulfilling and memorable, and we’re grateful to have shared it together.”🍞🧡

Today was our third workshop! One of the fellows, Michael sums it up: “On December 7th, we had a great meeting that focused on growth mindset and the benefits from having one. This Mifgash was filled with great memorable activities and was a great chance to see our friends before a long winter break 🩵❄️”
