HPV Global Action - VPH Action Globale

HPV Global Action - VPH Action Globale Bilingual Canadian registered charity. We connect with academic settings, health care professionals, and communities of all demographics.

Founded in 2006, HPV Global Action is a bilingual registered charity that educates individuals of all ages about sexual and reproductive health in the context of healthy relationships with the objective of preventing negative sexual health outcomes. As it is one of the most common sexually transmitted infections, we focus on the impact of Human Papillomavirus (HPV). Over 75% of the population will

contract HPV in their lifetime, and yet the virus is one of the least discussed. HPV Global Action is at the forefront of developing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health tools designed to enhance and assure positive sexual health outcomes. We disseminate information regarding the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HPV vaccines, screening, and avoiding/treating HPV-related diseases. We develop partnerships, implement educational programs, and develop research initiatives. Our prevention programs deliver clear, simple, evidence-based messaging.

Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week is an important time to raise awareness about cancers that affect the tonsils & vocal cords, tongue, and throat, and the growing role of HPV in these diseases.

Oropharyngeal cancers are increasing in incidence, particularly among younger nonsmokers, due to their association with the HPV. This highlights the importance of prevention through vaccination, regular dental visits, and early detection.
