We appreciate your interest towards Burned Children and we hope that we can, not only maintain your interest, but also make it makes it grow and become more concrete. Founded in 1997, the TOMA Foundation for Burned Children is a not for profit Charity duly registered with Revenue Canada, the Quebec Revenue Agency and the Office of the Public Trustee of Ontario. Its mission is to bring a moral and
concrete aid directly to the Burned Child while significantly contributing to the reduction of burn accidents to Canadian children in general. We accomplish this goal by profiting from any existing information, education or prevention tool that may also be ours. As for concrete and direct help, this is offered exclusively in direct response to requests made by front line caretakers from units caring for Canadian burned children. These are some of the forms of accomplished concrete help: supplying burned children with pressure garments and masks prescribed in occupational therapy, therapeutic toys, silicone and gel pads, electronic equipment as well as multimedia computers with free unlimited internet time with a view to breaking their clinical or social isolation during or outside of their hospital stay thus allowing them to have modern school catch-up tools and not discounting the financial help given to families for their trips and lodging while accompanying their child. The TOMA Foundation for Burned Children has rapidly become a major player in its own field. Each year, burned children, survivors, members of their families, health professionals, firefighters and others such as yourself join the ranks of the TOMA Foundation for Burned Children to assist in realizing this mission, sharing it and ultimately expanding a place with no walls, no frontiers and without judgment.
