coucou ô fans de moz, petit sneak peak à un début de grosse murale avec notre ami (svp faites-vous le cadeau de checker son compte insta, ça fera du bien à vos yeux).

Une rencontre entre le graffiti et la mosaïque qui couvre un mur de 80'x25', cela vous émoustille-t-il ? Nous oui, et ça faisait longtemps qu'on tramait ça... donc j'ai bien hâte de vous partager ce processus. Suivez cette aventure sur notre insta .moz ou et sur facebook Nayan...

en attendant j'ai environ 150 panneaux de fibrociment à projeter + découper... et ce soir on projette le tracé général sur le mur élu à l'école LJA à Laval... donc je sais même pas pourquoi je prends le temps d'aller glaner des followers sur les réseaux sociaux 🤷‍♂️ mais des fois, il vaut mieux ne pas résister à l'inspiration soudaine qui s'empare de nous.

Does a hybrid mural bringing together graffiti and mosaic and covering an 80'x25' wall excite you? Us yes indeed, and we've been planning this for a long time... so I can't wait to share this process with you. Follow this adventure on our insta .moz or on Facebook .nayan...

in the meantime I have around 150 fibercement board to project on + cut... and this evening we are projecting the general layout on the wall chosen at the LJA school in Laval... so I don't even know why I'm taking the time to go glean followers on social media 🤷‍♂️ but sometimes, it's better not to resist the sudden inspiration that takes hold of us.

Nayan | École alternative des Trois-Sources 🌈

Avril 2019 | Nayan est venu réaliser une oeuvre de mosaïque sur l’escalier principal de l’école primaire alternative des Trois-Sources.

Des parents sont venus prêter main forte durant tout le projet et des élèves de tous niveaux ont pu participer.

La première étape fut de créer des éléments divers en céramique, de les émailler, puis de créer des bandes de couleur en mosaïque sur un support temporaire.

Enfin, Nayan et quelques parents ont cimenté les bandes directement sur les contremarches de l’escalier en béton au coeur de l’école.

Un grand merci à Michelle F qui a servi d’entremetteuse entre Nayan et l’école.

Un grand merci au directeur de l’école, Michel R, qui a activement façonné l’argile, décoré les pièces, martelé la céramique et suivi le projet avec un vif intérêt tout au long du processus. Merci pour cette implication exceptionnelle de la direction !

Merci à tous les élèves qui ont participé, mais aussi aux parents qui sont venus donner de leur temps afin d’épauler la logistique du projet.

April 2019 | Nayan created a mosaic work on the main staircase of the Trois-Sources alternative primary school.

Parents really helped throughout the project and students of all levels were able to participate.

The first step was to create various ceramic elements, glaze them, then create mosaic colored bands on a temporary support.

Finally, Nayan and some parents cemented the strips directly onto the risers of the concrete staircase in the heart of the school.

Nayan & MILA - 2020

Nayan avait pour mandat de proposer une activité rassembleuse qui créerait un souvenir de la grande journée d’inauguration des nouveaux locaux du MILA – le Centre d’intelligence artificielle de Montréal. Il y avait beaucoup de discussions et de présentations théoriques, nous étions là pour que les neurones puissent se dégourdir et que les doigts jouent dans la colle, le marbre, la céramique, le miroir, le métal et quelques composants électroniques choisis spécialement pour l’occasion.

Nous nous sommes inspirés de la rencontre entre l’informatique et le biologique, l’humain et son double robotique afin de proposer une oeuvre figurative inspirante à l’image de l’endroit qu’elle habite désormais.

Nayan's mandate was to propose a unifying activity that would create a memory of the grand inauguration day of the new premises of MILA – the Montreal Artificial Intelligence Center. There were a lot of discussions and theoretical presentations, we were there so that the neurons could stretch and the fingers could play in glue, marble, ceramic, mirror, metal and some electronic components chosen especially for the occasion.

We were inspired by the meeting between computing and biology, the human and its robotic double in order to offer an inspiring figurative work reflecting the place it now inhabits.

Petit souvenir de projet suisse...

Entre le 1er et le 3 novembre 2018, Nayan participait à l’annuelle fête interculturelle de Vouvry (Valais, Suisse) organisée par la « Commission interculturelle et de l’intégration ».

«Argentine, Chine, Kosovo, Italie, Serbie, Portugal, Suisse, les origines des membres de la Commission interculturelle sont autant de richesse et tissent un patchwork plein d’énergie et d’envies. Ses différentes actions tendent à faciliter une cohabitation harmonieuse entre les diverses populations qui composent le patrimoine humain du village de Vouvry, en insufflant un esprit d’accueil, d’intégration et de participation des habitants à la vie locale et régionale. »

C’est dans cet esprit que nous avons conçu un grand arbre au tronc miroitant et aux feuillage multicolore, en hommage aux différentes cultures qui font vivre ce beau village du Valais.

(Hésitez pas à nous rappeler par là-bas ! On aime ça revenir au pays pour vous mosaïfier la life.)

(November 1-3 2018) Nayan participated in the annual intercultural festival in Vouvry (Valais, Switzerland) organized by the “Intercultural and Integration Commission”.

“Argentina, China, Kosovo, Italy, Serbia, Portugal, Switzerland, the origins of the members of the Intercultural Commission are rich and weave a patchwork full of energy and desires. Its various actions tend to facilitate harmonious cohabitation between the various populations that make up the human heritage of the village of Vouvry, by instilling a spirit of welcome, integration and participation of residents in local and regional life. »

It is in this spirit that we designed a large tree with a shimmering trunk and multicolored foliage, in homage to the different cultures that live in this beautiful village.

👏Youpi, a gagné un prix ! 🏆... un prix Essor grâce à la mosaïque "Nous sommes" avec l'école primaire Saint-Arsène à Montréal. Les prix de reconnaissance Essor soulignent le travail passionné des enseignant.e.s et artistes qui réalisent des projets artistiques novateurs imprégnés de culture. 🙏 Merci Muriel et Jean-François, on s'est bien amusé à Québec avec vous.
