It is with terribly heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leonora Indira King. She was a pillar to our community and an inspiration to every person who was lucky enough to meet her. Four years ago she founded the Parc-Ex Curry Collective, as an avenue to uplift and support the women of her neighbourhood by celebrating their culture, creativity, and power. She was a force of nature and a light in the life of all who knew her. As we pass through a period of profound mourning and grief, we will be temporarily pausing the activities of the collective until further notice. Despite the incredible progress she made in building this organisation in only a few years, she had not finished what she started. The pain we feel is only deeper knowing how big her dreams were, and all she had planned to accomplish in the coming years. As we navigate the future of the collective in the coming months, it is with unwavering determination to do justice to her memory that we will ensure the continuation of her work and fulfill the next steps to see her vision flourish. The love and passion Leonora put out into the world is multiplied by the hundreds of people she touched. Now we need the help of every single person who cared for her to show up and make sure that her dream will not end here.

C'est avec un cœur extrêmement lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Leonora Indira King. Elle était un pilier pour notre communauté et une source d'inspiration pour chaque personne ayant eu la chance de la rencontrer. Il y a quatre ans, elle a fondé le Parc-Ex Curry Collective, une initiative visant à soutenir et valoriser les femmes de son quartier en célébrant leur culture, leur créativité et leur puissance. Elle était une force de la nature et une lumière dans la vie de tous ceux qui la connaissaient.
Alors que nous traversons une période de deuil profond, nous suspendons temporairement les activités du collectif. Malgré les progrès incroyables qu'elle a réalisés en seulement quelques années pour bâtir cette organisation, elle n’avait pas terminé ce qu’elle avait commencé. La douleur que nous ressentons est d'autant plus profonde en pensant à l'ampleur de ses rêves et tout ce qu’elle avait prévu d'accomplir dans les années à venir.
Alors que nous nous préparons à l'avenir du collectif dans les prochains mois, c’est avec une détermination sans faille de faire honneur à sa mémoire que nous veillerons à la poursuite de son travail et à la réalisation des prochaines étapes pour voir sa vision se réaliser. L'amour et la passion que Leonora a partagés avec le monde se multiplient par les centaines de personnes qu'elle a touchées. Aujourd’hui, nous avons besoin de l’aide de chaque personne qui l’a aimée pour nous assurer que son rêve ne se termine pas ici.
Nous aurons besoin de tous types de personnes, d’aide et de ressources pour garantir l’avenir du collectif.
