Reboot McGill is a not-for-profit EUS club dedicated to the sustainable management of electronic waste on-campus. Our program is a co‐operative effort between students and the McGill University administration to collect old McGill computers and peripherals, refurbish that equipment if possible, redeploy the equipment on-campus where appropriate, donate any unwanted usable equipment, and lastly, arrange for the proper disposal of all unusable equipment and scrap. Our program is important for providing a technical learning environment for McGill students and to promote green initiatives and new ideas with respect to electronics in the Faculty of Engineering and across campus. Some of our initiatives include e-waste drives, twice a year, and the distribution of open-source software (OSS) to students. Please note that our mission and initiatives adhere to the McGill University IT Equipment Disposal Policy (ITEDP) and are in line with McGill’s Vision 2020 Climate & Sustainability Action Plan. Our key partners include the Engineering Undergraduate Society (EUS), McGill Office of Sustainability (MOoS), McGill Procurement Services (MPS) and McGill Hazardous Waste Management (MHWM).
