Mission & Activities of AMAQ:

*AMAQ aims to bring together Armenian health professionals while providing them a forum for networking through professional and social exchange.

*AMAQ organizes informative health-related projects for the Armenian community, in the form of lectures, community education & information sessions.

*AMAQ provides guidance and orientation to Armenian students in Quebec planning to enroll in medical professions.

*AMAQ organizes events mentoring, professional development opportunities such as workshops, speaker events, training, and connections to employment opportunities.

*Another significant purpose is to form connections with other medical associations both within Canada and internationally.

[Fr] La semaine dernière à Erevan, nous avons rencontré Ani, une membre de notre équipe FOCUS en Arménie au Centre de santé mentale Intra afin de réviser le budget du projet et de nous assurer que l’ensemble de la comptabilité demeure à jour.

Au-delà de la responsabilité envers nos donateurs, ces rencontres en personne permettent de renforcer les liens humains qui soutiennent FOCUS et de maintenir une collaboration étroite entre nos équipes au Québec et en Arménie.

[En] Last week in Yerevan, we met with Ani, a member of our Armenia FOCUS team at the Intra Mental Health Center to review the project’s budget and ensure that all accounting records remain complete and up to date.

Beyond donor accountability, this in-person meeting helps strengthen the human relationships behind FOCUS and keeps our teams aligned around a shared goal: supporting the resilience and well-being of children across Armenia.

[En] AMAQ and Wigmore Family Health held professional exchange visits in Yerevan featuring joint patient consultations and clinical case discussions.

The visit focused on mutual experience sharing, discussion of current approaches in family medicine, and ongoing efforts to improve the quality of care in Armenia.

From fundraiser to installation to training.

Yesterday, AMAQ was at AGBU Montreal to provide a brief hands-on orientation on the new defibrillator now available at the community center.

🥂 AMAQ invites you to a relaxed 5 à 7 networking evening on Thursday, June 25, starting at 5:30 PM, at the W Montréal Living Room.

As many of us head into summer schedules, this will be a good opportunity to reconnect, meet new people, and spend time with members of Montreal’s Armenian healthcare community.

Conveniently located downtown, the venue is easily accessible by Metro and REM, making it easy to join us after work or class.

The evening is open to members and non-members, including both medical and non-medical friends of AMAQ. Anyone interested in connecting with our community is welcome to sign up.

The Armenian Medical Association of Québec extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Richard W. Elliott on his passing.

Alongside his wife, Dr Lena Terjanian, who served as a past President of AMAQ, he was closely connected to the life of our association and to the broader Armenian medical community over many years.

We remember him with respect and gratitude, and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
