Mcgill Al Purdy A-Frame Association The Al Purdy A-Frame Trust is a non-profit organization looking to preserve an important piece of cultural history in Canada, Al Purdy's A-Frame cabin.

Known as “The Voice of the Land,” Al Purdy has produced an array of poetry that has landed him the reputation of being one of Canada’s greatest wordsmiths. Having spent his life traveling from coast to coast, Purdy and his wife selected the south shore of Roblin Lake, Ontario to build an A-Frame cabin that would come to serve as a mecca for hundreds of Canadian writers such as Margaret Atwood and

Michael Ondaatje to discuss poetry and shape a national literature. An enthusiast of Canada and its history, Purdy wove his way into its national narrative with his works and ideas. It is only appropriate that the A-frame—a wellspring of much of Canada’s great literature—be recognized as an important cornerstone of the country’s cultural history. The goal of the project is to raise money to save Al Purdy's A-Frame house in Ameliasburg, ON, from sale and demolition, and to preserve the property as a heritage site.
