WUSC McGill WUSC Student Refugee Program: Refugee youth receive sponsorship to help them continue their education

Founded in 1978, WUSC is a registered Canadian charity with headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario and regional offices in Africa, Asia and Latin America. WUSC is unique among development organizations in our ability to link Canada's colleges and universities with overseas activities. We are present on campuses across the country, connecting post-secondary students, faculty and leaders through:

- More than 100 WUSC Local Committees!
- Student Refugee Program (SRP): Combining resettlement with higher education to support students fleeing war or persecution in developing countries.
- Managing scholarships for students from developing countries enrolled at Canadian universities and colleges.

One of the most important parts of welcoming SRP scholars is making them feel supported from the moment they arrive. By joining the arrivals committee, you’ll play a key role in helping ease their transition to life at McGill and in a new environment.

Whether it’s preparing essentials, organizing donation drives, greeting students at the airport, or helping them settle in, there are so many ways to get involved.

If interested, please send us a DM to be added to the arrivals committee WhatsApp groupchat! You can participate in person or online, everyone is welcome đŸ€
