🎬 Bright Night is Back! ✨
Join us on Monday, October 26 at SAW Centre in Ottawa for an evening of Nordic and Baltic short films!
Estonia's entry is "Breadsong" 🍞 🎼 by Katariina Aule, a haunting historical folk horror film. Set in a rural 19th-century community, it tells the story of a family who hears a pop song 🎤 from the future. The more they listen, the greater the cost. 👻

🇪🇪🚴‍♂️ Tere tulemast Montreali, Eesti ratturid! 🇨🇦❤️

The Estonian road cycling team has arrived in Montreal for the 2026 UCI Road World Championships — and what a warm welcome they received! 🇪🇪🇨🇦

After a long journey from Estonia, our athletes were greeted at the airport by Montreal’s Estonian community, flags proudly flying and a very special surprise from Ave Kaegi, who brought along delicious homemade cookies. 🍪❤️ Judging by the smiles on their faces, the cookies may have played a small role in helping everyone recover from the long flight! 😊

A huge aitäh to Connor O’Brien, the Honorary Consul of Estonia, who very generously organized and sponsored transportation for our athletes and their very impressive collection of bike bags to their hotel. 🚐🚴‍♂️

We were also honoured to welcome Estonian Ambassador Gert Auväärt, who joined us in welcoming the team to Montreal.

It is incredibly exciting to have our athletes here, proudly representing Estonia on the world stage! 🇪🇪🌎

The UCI Road World Championships are taking place in Montreal from September 20–27, with riders from around the world competing across 13 events. (UCI)

A team of Estonian cyclists is coming to Montreal on September 16th for the world championships — their first visit here in 50 years. Big deal, and we'd like as many familiar faces as possible there to greet them.
Meet at the church at noon on September 16th. Transport to the airport (YUL) and back will be arranged. If you can make it — flags, smiles, whatever you've got — it would mean a lot to the team.

A unique opportunity to spend an evening with one of Estonia's talented young bands!

INGER band has kindly offered to give a small, intimate concert exclusively for the Montreal Estonian community while they're visiting the city. They'll perform some of their songs, but the evening is also about getting to know each other- they're excited to meet local Estonians, hear about life in Montreal, and connect with our community.

Let's give them a warm Montreal welcome! It's a wonderful chance to support these young musicians and learn more about what brings them to Canada.

Everyone is welcome - bring your family and friends!

The Estonian flag is flying high as we celebrate Jaanipäev. 🇪🇪 Thank you to everyone who joined us in keeping our traditions alive. Head ilusat jaanipäeva!

🌿 Jaanipäev at Lättemäe is tomorrow! 🔥

We’re looking forward to celebrating Midsummer with you!

The forecast suggests we might see a little rain, but don’t let that stop you. According to Estonian folklore, if rain didn’t fall from the sky, the sacred Midsummer dew (“jaanikaste”) was believed to bring beauty, youth, and good health to those who washed their face in it or walked through it. Maybe a little summer rain brings a bit of that magic too! 🌧️✨

A few reminders of what to bring:
🌧️ A rain jacket or weather-appropriate clothing
🦟 Mosquito repellent
🧖 A towel and swimwear if you plan to enjoy the sauna
🥨 A small snack if you think you’ll get hungry before dinner is served at 5:00 PM
💧 A reusable water bottle (optional, but always a good idea!)

Most importantly, bring your good mood and your Midsummer spirit. 🌼

Whether the sun shines or the rain falls, the bonfire will be lit, the sauna will be warm, the b**r tasting will be ready, and we’ll celebrate together.
