The official page for the Centre Famille SNAP Family Center Boys and girls attend gender-specific weekly group sessions for 13 weeks.

SNAP®, which stands for Stop Now And Plan, is an evidence-based behavioural model that provides a framework for teaching children struggling with behaviour issues, and their parents, effective emotional regulation, self-control and problem-solving skills. SNAP helps troubled children and their parents learn how to effectively manage their emotions and "keep their problems small". Originally, the program was developed by Child Development Institute, an accredited children’s mental health organization in Toronto, in 1985 as an intervention program for boys under 12 in conflict with the law. Today: the gender-sensitive SNAP Boys and SNAP Girls programs are designed for children ages 6-11 who are engaging in aggressive, anti-social behaviour and/or have come into contact with authority figures at school or in the community. Children and families participate with the goal of preventing future anti-social behaviour and reducing the chances of conflict with family, peers and authority figure. They learn how to use SNAP in different situations through engaging activities, including discussions, role-playing and interactive games. A variety of topics are discussed such as: dealing with angry thoughts and feelings, self-control, problem-solving and bullying. The parent group meets concurrently with the SNAP boys/SNAP Girls groups. Parents learn effective child management and SNAP strategies. The group also provides parents with an opportunity to make connections with other parents facing similar challenges. We also offer:

*Crisis Intervention
*Long Term Connections and Continued Care

A wonderful evening celebrating the people who help make our community stronger. ✨

On September 18, our Director, Debbie, attended the Volunteer Appreciation Evening hosted by the Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro, this year with a fun James Bond theme. 🎬

It was a pleasure to be part of an evening dedicated to recognizing the time, dedication, and heart that volunteers bring to our community.

And as a little bonus, Debbie even went home with one of the beautiful James Bond themed centrepieces! 🌹

Thank you to the Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro for bringing the community together for such a special evening.

We would like to celebrate and thank Julie, our wonderful socio-community officer, as she begins her retirement. 💙

For the past 12 years, Julie has been a valued part of the SNAP community, standing by our side and supporting our families, children, and community every step of the way.

We are so grateful for her dedication, her contribution, and the meaningful relationship she has built with SNAP over the years. Her presence has made a difference, and she will truly be missed!

💜A new chapter for Hélys at Centre Famille SNAP!💚

Centre Famille SNAP recently launched its first Hélys 12–17 group for parents of teenagers, and we were very pleased with the participation, interest, and positive feedback from parents.

Hélys provides parents with opportunities to learn, connect, and build confidence as they navigate the different stages of adolescence. The workshops take place once a month for four months, exploring topics that matter to families with teenagers.

Le Centre Famille SNAP a récemment lancé son premier groupe HélyS 12–17 destiné aux parents d’adolescents, et nous sommes très heureux de la participation, de l’intérêt et des commentaires positifs des parents.

HélyS offre aux parents l’occasion d’apprendre, d’échanger et de renforcer leur confiance dans leur rôle parental alors qu’ils accompagnent leurs adolescents à travers les différentes étapes de l’adolescence. Les ateliers ont lieu une fois par mois pendant quatre mois et abordent des sujets qui touchent les familles d’adolescents.

We were so happy to be part of Celebrating Families 2026, the 15th edition of this wonderful community event in Pierrefonds-Roxboro. From BBQ and inflatable games to face painting, animations, and plenty of smiles, it was a beautiful afternoon filled with fun and togetherness. 🌻
