Although snow is still falling, spring is inevitably approaching, along with the beloved time of maple syrup celebrations. This year, we have again decided to organize our traditional trip into the awakening nature to the Cabane à sucre au milieu des champs. It will take place on April 25, 2026, at 1:00 PM.

Srdečne Vás pozývame na tradičný veľkonočný predaj pečiva v hale slovenského kostola Sv. Cyrila a Metoda ktorý sa uskutoční v sobodu 28. marca 2026 od 10:00 do 15:00 hod.

Na spestrenie sme pridali malý ateliér pre deti - maľovanie-zdobenie veľkonočných medovníkov pripravených pani Evou Stohlovou, našou známou medovníčkárou. Táto aktivita je zdarma pre deti, len by sme boli vďační za každý príspevok výsledku vášho pekárskeho talentu na štedrý stôl dobrôt na predaj, poprípade peňažný dar (môžete vložit do obálky s vaším menom madresou a mailovou adresou na zaslanie podvrdenia k daňovému priznaniu (pre hodnotu and 25 dolárov))
Prosíme nahlasiť počet detí pani Karin Kianička 514-928-3219 aby sme prichystali dosť medovníčkov a materiálu pre detičky.

We warmly invite you to the traditional Easter pastry sale in the hall of the Slovak Church of St. Cyril and Methodius which will take place on the 28th of March 2026 from 10 AM to 3 PM.

To make it more enjoyable, we have added a small workshop for children - painting and decorating Easter gingerbread cookies prepared by Mrs. Eva Stohlová, our well-known gingerbread maker. This activity is free for children, but we would appreciate any contribution of the results of your baking talents to the generous table of goods for sale, or a monetary donation (you can put it in an envelope with your name, address, and email for sending a confirmation for tax purposes (for value of 25 dollars or more)).

Please report the number of children to Mrs. Karin Kianička at 514-928-3219 so that we can prepare enough gingerbread cookies and materials for the children.

Hi Everyone! We would like to share that there is a free online education for Slovak children living abroad, organized by the Methodological Centre for Slovaks Living Abroad at Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, under the auspices of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad.

The program is intended for children aged 7–15 (younger children may participate when accompanied by an adult). It is delivered in the Slovak language in a playful and interactive way and is suitable even for children with different levels of Slovak language proficiency. It is not a traditional language course, but rather a set of meaningful, themed activities that motivate children and help them build a connection with the Slovak environment.

If you know families, schools, community or heritage organizations that might be interested in this opportunity, feel free share this information further.

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, after the Holy Mass for the members of the Canadian Slovak League, President Kornélia Kozma welcomed all dear guests to the traditional festive Christmas lunch – including the children who were impatiently waiting for our great friend St. Nicholas, who promised to stop by, even though he is very busy at this time. A huge thank you goes to the entire team, who masterfully prepared a delicious meal for 150 people, to the service, and to everyone who helped with the preparation of the hall, shopping, and subsequent cleaning. Without their efforts, this successful event could not have taken place.

“Montreal has a new Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic as of January 15, 2026.”

We would like to inform you that on January 15, 2026, the Honorary Consulate of the Slovak Republic, headed by Honorary Consul Daniela Arendášová, began operating in Montreal. Within the scope of consular functions, it will carry out notarization tasks (certifying signatures, translations, and copies of documents) and document tasks (issuing replacement travel documents). Applications can be submitted by prior appointment only, which can be arranged by phone or email.
