On March 26, Hilm, in collaboration with CYD, hosted an intercommunity gathering and Eid celebration that brought together community leaders, organization representatives, and elected officials.

The event provided a valuable opportunity for meaningful dialogue, where attendees discussed ways to collaborate, support one another, and build stronger connections across communities. Their shared goal was to foster unity and explore initiatives that contribute to a more cohesive and resilient community.

This week marks the 9th anniversary of the Quebec City Mosque attack (January 29, 2017), a painful moment in our collective memory when six Muslim worshippers were killed while praying.

At CYD, we believe that remembrance is a responsibility.
Last Friday, we held a special gathering and a panel discussion to honor the victims, reflect on the impact of Islamophobia, and reaffirm our commitment to dignity, resilience, and unity. This gathering was covered by Montreal CityNews, helping amplify the message of remembrance and solidarity beyond our walls.

We ask everyone to keep the victims and their families in your duʿāʾ, and to continue building a society rooted in justice, empathy, and mutual respect.

May Allah grant the victims mercy and elevate their ranks.
May He protect our communities and our youth.

Le 23 janvier à 18h30, le CYD, en collaboration avec le bureau de la Représentante Spéciale du Canada Chargée de la Lutte contre l’Islamophobie, animera une table ronde en commémoration de l’attentat contre la mosquée de Québec en 2017 .

Ce rassemblement vise à créer un espace pour honorer les victimes, reconnaître les douleurs que notre communauté porte encore et avoir des discussions honnêtes au sujet de l’islamophobie et son impact, surtout chez nos jeunes.

Ensemble, nous mettrons de l’avant la guérison, la résilience et l’émancipation des jeunes pour qu’ils puissent faire face aux injustices.
