THIS is what makes our Women’s English Language Cafe so special. THIS is why we created this program for women in the community ❤️!

For so many of the women in our English Language Café, our meetups are about much more than practicing grammar or vocabulary—they’re about finding connection, confidence, and lifelong friendships.

Thank you to every woman who walks through our doors and shares her heart with us. You make our community what it is.

Looking back at our workshop dedicated to fighting anti-Asian racism.

During our workshop, we brought participants together to unpack the impact of discrimination on Asian women in Canada. At the intersection of racism and sexism, an intersectional approach allows us to highlight the double oppression that Asian women experience.

On the agenda for this intense and vital workshop:

⚫️Historical deep dive: Understanding the roots of systemic anti-Asian racism in Canada.
⚫️Media analysis: Decoding current events (especially since COVID-19 and the resurgence of stereotypes) using real-life testimonies.
⚫️Raising awareness: Putting words to the visible and invisible discrimination that Asian women in our community face daily.
