Two decades of supporting, connecting, and celebrating Asian women ❤️

Since 2005, Asian Women for Equality has created spaces where women can connect, grow, and build confidence. From skill-building workshops to advocacy and peer support, we aim to advance equality for women and create more opportunities for women to participate in and to take on leadership roles in civil society.

Because financial means should not limit growth, our regular monthly programs are 100% free. But, making this happen takes a community and we reply on donations to keep our work going strong.

Nous soulignons cette journée pour nous élever contre la traite des personnes et l’exploitation se****le, et pour honorer la dignité, la sécurité et les droits fondamentaux de toutes les femmes.

L’égalité réelle entre les femmes et les hommes ne peut exister sans justice économique, sécurité en matière d’hébergement et protections systémiques pour les femmes en quête d’équité

Ensemble, nous militons pour de véritables choix, des changements systémiques et un monde où chaque femme est en sécurité, valorisée et libre de toute exploitation

We stand with survivors of human trafficking and s*xual exploitation, demanding a world where women are safe, valued, and free.

True equality between men and women means economic security and legal protection for every woman in our community.

The Nordic Model Decriminalizes the Selling of S*x Acts and Focuses on Demanding Accountability From Buyers and Pimps.

“Prostitution is inherently violent, women should not be criminalised for the exploitation and abuse they endure.”

REDUCE DEMAND:

Targets, pimps, buyers and s*x traffickers rather than penalizing vulnerable individuals.

PROTECT MARGINALIZED WOMEN:

Decriminalizes women sold or exploited in the s*x industry and offers exit programs, housing, and social services.

PROMOTE TRUE EQUALITY:

Reframe societal norms to establish that women’s bodies are not commodities.

Today, October 5, is International Day of No Prostitution.

We mark this day to stand against human trafficking and s*xual exploitation, and to honor the dignity, safety, and human rights of all women.

True equality between women and men cannot exist without economic justice, housing security, and systemic protections for equity-seeking women.

Together, we advocate for real choices, systemic change, and a world where every woman is safe, valued, and free from exploitation.

Tout a commencé à l’été 2023 avec une mission : créer un espace sûr et bienveillant où les femmes peuvent pratiquer le français et tisser des liens. Aujourd’hui, nous revenons sur ce parcours en compagnie de notre fondatrice !

We organized the first language cafe in Montreal in the summer of 2023. We started with a bilingual language cafe: for practicing both French and English. But we quickly noticed that there was greater demand for practicing French. So we later organized language cafes dedicated only to practicing French.

I’d been thinking for a long time about creating a safe space for women to practice languages. As a language teacher, I know that people need to feel safe in order to dare practicing a language. I also wanted this to be an opportunity to meet newcomers, introduce them to our organization, and discuss issues that matter to us as immigrant and/or racialized women, while helping them build a social circle.

No specific motto. We value talking about issues that affect us and bring us together in a fun and supportive environment. Our language cafe isn’t just a social activity, it also gives us a chance to talk about our experiences as women, and particularly as immigrant and/or racialized women.

For so many of the women in our English Language Café, our meetups are about much more than practicing grammar or vocabulary—they’re about finding connection, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
