JASHIM is a Colombian-born, Montréal-based musician, rapper, producer, and multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of experimental club music, cybernetic culture, and immersive performance. Drawing from Afro-Colombian and Indigenous influences and shaped by diasporic experience, they transform deep cultural roots into futuristic rhythms that reimagine sound, identity, and technology.
Their work has been featured by Club Quarantine, Boiler Room, and Mutants Vol. 2 (curated by Arca) and highlighted in press publications such as BillboardCanada, NTS(NY) and CultMTL. A key figure in Montréal’s underground Latin scene, JASHIM’s upcoming 2026 album “Lilvisions” is a multi-channel experience, a dream at the end of the world, a glitch, a broken heart and a sign of the times. He is part of Canada house showcase at Reeperbahn festival in Germany and touring their first tour in the fall of 2026.

This Wednesday, our four-week production workshop series comes to a close with Lunice, Vié Mogo PKchu Pierre Chaude and James Benjamin leading the final session.

We’ll listen to 10–15 tracks submitted by local talent, with Lunice , Vié Mogo PKchu Pierre Chaude and James Benjamin offering live feedback, perspective and insight along the way.

The session is open to all, producers and listeners alike. Come to put your own music in front of experienced ears, hear what’s taking shape in the city’s undercurrent, or simply spend a few hours listening to music in good company.

Producers, send us what you’ve been working on. 10–15 tracks will be selected and played in the room.

Over the past four years of Club Sagacité, we’ve had the pleasure of learning from Jordan Gardner through the many Ableton workshops we’ve facilitated. Every session has left us with new tools to bring into our personal projects—and renewed ambition to dive deeper into our aspirations as emerging producers.

This Sunday from 6–9 PM, Jordan leads Motion Lab: a three-hour exploration of arrangement, effects and automation. Participants will learn how to expand on their ideas, shape their sound and transform something in it’s early stages into it’s more polished form.

Open to beginners, this class will take an intermediate-level approach. Some familiarity with Ableton Live is recommended, but not required.

What to bring:

Jordan Gardner is a JUNO Award-winning producer, DJ and one half of the duo ÈBONY. Originally from Toronto and now based in Montréal, his genre-blurring sound brings together the soulful futurism of Detroit and Chicago with bass, dub and global club rhythms.

It’s been a while since our last members link-up. This Labour Day Sunday, we’re outside touching grass, catching some sun and playing some music with our friends. If you’re reading this, consider it a personal invite to our members-only Sagacité Cookout this Sunday at Parc Ste Cunegonde — BBQ potluck style.

This Wednesday — Ultima Esuna leads Harmony Lab: Melody & Bass, a three-hour Ableton session exploring how to write the hook and the low end as one unified idea rather than two separate elements.

Participants will learn why major and minor chord choices matter, how melody and bass work together, and when to use mono versus stereo placement for leads and pads. The session will also explore how tools like Tuner, Simpler and the right reference track can help break through choice paralysis and move an idea forward.

The goal is for everyone to leave with a four-track loop featuring a lead, chords, bass and a sampled chop, along with variations created using Arpeggiator.

The session closes with a group playback where everyone can share what they’ve made.

Open to beginners, this class will take an intermediate-level approach. Some familiarity with Ableton Live is recommended, but not required.

This Tuesday at Breakglass, Montréal staple and underground club innovator Martyn Bootyspoon leads Rhythm Lab—a three-hour dive into sampling, rhythm and creative transformation in Ableton Live.

Participants will learn to hear the rhythmic potential inside a sound, then chop, pitch, stretch and rearrange a single source into many radically different idea.. from drum patterns and basslines to loops and melodic textures.

The course unfolds in three parts:

1. FIND — Sampling as discovery
2. FLIP — Turn the sample into rhythm
3. BUILD — Make it your own

The session will close with a group playback, where participants can share what they’ve created.

→ This workshop is open to beginners, with an intermediate-level approach. Some familiarity with Ableton Live is recommended, but not required.

☆ About Martyn Bootyspoon ☆

Martyn Bootyspoon (Jason Voltaire) is a Montréal-based producer, DJ and live artist whose work draws from the Black American roots of house, techno, juke, footwork and electro, colliding them with the raw mutations of grime, ghettotech and underground club music.

Equal parts technician and provocateur, his productions and performances are driven by physicality, experimentation and a playful approach to sound. Through sampling, synthesis, rhythm, vocals and performance, Martyn pushes beyond genre conventions to create music that feels immediate, strange and deeply connected to the dance floor.

Hey everyone! We’re so excited to finally announce our Ableton Live Workshop Series 🎛️

Over the years, we’ve experimented with different formats for our production workshops, and after the success of our previous sessions (and all the amazing feedback we received) we wanted to take things a step further.

This time, we’re expanding the workshop into a four-part series, diving into the building blocks of music production: drums, harmony, effects & arrangement, and mixing.

✶ OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG CREATIVES ✶

We’re sharing this call from McGill’s “Radically Relational Futures Fellowship”, a paid creative research fellowship inviting individuals ages 18–29 to explore decolonial futures, collective wellbeing, and arts-based methods.

They are currently recruiting for four cohorts: ✶ Indigenous individuals
✶ Women musicians
✶ Q***r immigrant individuals
✶ Individuals with lived experience of mental health challenges.

Participants will take part in workshops around Indigenous futurism, q***r futurity, Afrofuturisms, and creative practice, with the opportunity to contribute to an exhibition, documentary, and website.

Each fellow receives $1,000 in compensation for their participation. No previous experience with the creative methods mentioned above is required.
