We concluded a very busy and successful 2025–2026 year for the Montreal Central Lions Club with our final meeting of the season.

While we will not be gathering for our regular monthly meetings until September, we certainly won’t be slowing down. We have a full and exciting summer ahead, with numerous community activities and events, including the 2026 Highland Games, Habitation St. Raymond annual BBQ and the Intercultural Festival in NDG.

These events provide wonderful opportunities to continue serving our community, building connections, and promoting the values of Lionism throughout Montreal.

Thank you to all our members, volunteers, and supporters for their dedication and commitment throughout the year. We look forward to seeing everyone over the summer and reconvening in September for another productive and impactful year of service.

Where there is a need, there is a Lion 🦁

This past Thursday our club was represented by our Vice President Lion Guy at the Westhaven-Elmhurst Community Centre Annual General Meeting.

The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to connect with community leaders, learn about the Centre’s accomplishments over the past year, and discuss ways to continue supporting and strengthening our community through collaboration and service.

We thank the Westhaven-Elmhurst Community Centre for hosting a successful and informative event.

Our President, Lion Gulnar, met members of the West End Horticultural Society during one of their activities on Monkland Avenue. She had the pleasure of speaking with Suzanne Csik, President of the Society, and shared with her the work we do in our community, particularly our club’s involvement in environmental initiatives. Our President was delighted to receive a generous donation of seeds and plants to be given to Logements Communautaires et Solidaires Grand, a social housing building in NDG that our club proudly supports.

The West End Horticultural Society is a long-standing Montreal organization dedicated to gardening, horticultural education, nature, and community engagement.

The plants have now found a new home on the grounds of Logements Communautaires et Solidaires Grand, where they will be enjoyed by residents throughout the season thanks to the NDG Community Council and Parents engagés pour la petite enfance (PEP)

A special thank you to Suzanne Csik and the West End Horticultural Society for their kindness and support. Your donation has helped make our community a little greener, brighter, and more beautiful 🌱

NDG Pancake Day was a great success today, organized in collaboration with the NDG Community Council in support of the important work of Logements Communautaires et Solidaires Grand.

We were honoured to welcome Governor of Lions District U-1 Lion Diane, members of the Verdun Lions Club Club Lions de Verdun - Mtl and Peter McQueen, City Councillor for the NDG District. We also thank the Club Lions de Terrebonne for their generous contribution.

Special thanks to Halah Al Ubaidi and Julie Cormier from the NDG Community Council, Chef Laurent Audar, KStG from Clan Logan Canada, and our dedicated volunteers Anna, P.J., Glory, Nooshin, Ken, Josh, and Haoua, as well as Provigo Laurier Montréal (Sherbrooke Ouest) and the Depot Community Food Centre for their generous support and food donations 🙏🏼🙏🏼

We were especially pleased that a resident of Logements Communautaires et Solidaires Grand joined us and proudly took part in this meaningful community activity supporting the building they live in.

Today was a beautiful example of community spirit, solidarity, and neighbours coming together to support one another.
