Michel of the Quebec Skeptics reposted the article on transgenderism that I shared with you yesterday and reported back that the Skeptics enjoyed a spirited discussion (see below). My own thinking is that historically the tr*******al people (with gender dysphoria) were about 0.5% of the population. These people believed s*x is binary and they wanted to be other s*x. The introduction of the term “transgender” made the concept fluid with the majority of the people so-identified, like those who were once known as female impersonators, having no intention of changing their s*x. This newer population of trans would be subject to contagion effects. Notions like “non-binary” are then related closely to this new gender fluidity. I think this could be a very interesting discussion but our membership list is confidential. I am going to suggest we move the discussion to our FB page: Facebook.
