GCF is a Quebec non-profit organization with an extensive history in the Greater Montreal region. For nearly two decades, long before it had the name GCF, the volunteers of the organization have met the needs of food insecure individuals and families, as well as, socially excluded individuals by providing over 45,000 free holiday meals and a location for socially excluded individuals to meet and i
nteract with their peers. Some of the services that GCF provides are as follows:
- Weekly Meet n' Eat Lunch Program;
- Mobile Pantry Program;
- Senior Help Involvement Program (SHIP);
- Free Holiday Meal Program;
- Senior Shuttle Service;
Serving any and all within the community who need help, Genesis Community Foundation performs the following:
- Establish, develop, operate and maintain facilities within the community for the purpose of providing meals and food to persons and families living at the poverty level;
- Provide resources, opportunities and solutions to help people in situations of poverty or social exclusion;
- Provide holiday meals to persons and families;
- Provide food assistance to children and families in need in the community;
- Conduct other complementary activities not inconsistent with these objectives. Our work has a powerful impact not only on the people that we work with directly, but also on the larger community as a whole. We are completely reliant on charitable donations in order to be able to continue to provide these services.
