What a wonderful evening! Thank you to everyone who came out for our screening of Calorie and helped make it such a special night. ❤️

We were thrilled to welcome director Eisha Marjara and producer and QEPC Board Member Joe Balass for a great conversation, expertly moderated by our wonderful Claire MacKinnon.

It was a full house, and we’re so happy we could all come together as a community to experience this beautiful film and celebrate the incredible work of our members and creators. Thank you for being part of it!

📢 Important Industry Update

The Wire Report is reporting that, nearly two months after the federal government announced $600 million in emergency support for Canada's cultural sector, organizations are still waiting for details on when funding will be distributed.

For many in our industry, these funds are urgently needed to support productions, jobs, and businesses across the country. While the announcement was welcomed, the uncertainty surrounding the rollout continues to create concern throughout the sector.

As QEPC Co-President Stacey Tenenbaum told The Wire Report:

"We are concerned that a more reliable and permanent source of funding continues to elude us. This is not a question of affordability, but of national survival."

QEPC will continue advocating for sustainable, long-term investment in Québec's English-language production sector and will keep members informed as more information becomes available.

Before our Summer Mixer a few weeks ago, we kicked off the evening with an incredible workshop hosted by our partners at Cineground and SLA Location!

🎬 Collaboration with a Cinema Rental House 101 gave attendees practical insights into building strong relationships with rental houses, navigating equipment needs, and fostering successful collaborations that can elevate any production.

Cineground is a Montreal-based camera rental and post-production house offering cutting-edge camera technology, editing, colour grading, and technical post services, all with a filmmaker-first approach. Learn more at www.cineground.com.

Before our Summer Mixer on July 9th, join us for a practical workshop presented by Cineground and SLA Location!

Whether you’re a producer, director, cinematographer, or emerging filmmaker, this session will walk you through the full collaboration process with a rental house, from first contact and prep to on-set logistics, returns, contracts, and avoiding common pitfalls.

A great opportunity to better understand equipment workflows, ask questions, and strengthen your production knowledge.

What an incredible experience for our QEPC Market Access Program cohort at the Banff World Media Festival! 🎬✨

Our participants had an amazing time connecting, learning, and building invaluable relationships with industry leaders and peers from across the screen-based sector. Opportunities like these are what help strengthen and grow Quebec’s English-language production community.
