We are thrilled to share a testimonial from Cristian Ciungu, one of our amazing interns! During his time with us, Cristian served as a hardware tester, working on the IT team 🚀 Cristian worked on UNI and got a chance to further develop his skills in Python, Java, Android Studio, and more!

🔄 It considers not just the immediate ecological impact of a tech, but also the entire journey!

Take an electric car ⚡ for instance, sure, zero emissions during use, but wait! ⏳ There's "gray energy" used in its production which may have a negative impact. 😕 But don't worry, it all balances out! ⚖️

Hey there! 👋 Meet Valentin Kravtchenko, the founder of Grey-Box, a groundbreaking initiative that combines tech and social impact. 🚀 With a background in media production, Valentin's passion for improving lives led him to create Grey-Box a few years ago. 💡 Listen in as Valentin shares his journey and what led him to start Grey-Box!

Valentin's journey began in remote areas like the Sahel Desert in West Africa and the Bolivian Hills, collaborating with local NGOs and aboriginal communities. 🌱 These experiences opened his eyes to a different reality and ignited a desire to leverage technology for the betterment of people's lives, particularly in underserved regions.

Driven by a vision to bridge the digital divide, we embarked on a mission to understand the unique needs of remote communities. Through extensive interviews with over 200 local NGOs and communities, we gained invaluable insights. This paved the way for the creation of UNI, our innovative offline WiFi hotspots. 🔌🌐

Our mission is to simplify technology and empower individuals. By abstracting the technical complexities, they make it easier for teachers, like the one in Mexico, to provide their students with unlimited access to educational resources like Wikipedia. 📚✏️ In just 30 seconds, the teacher can set up UNI and ensure a seamless learning experience for her students. 💡✨

Over the past year, Grey-Box has been busy deploying pilot projects in 12 different countries, striving to make a tangible impact. 💪 Recently, Valentin returned from Ukraine, where he collaborated closely with local NGOs for four months.

Grey-Box has formed partnerships with universities, tapping into the expertise of over 150 students. Together, they work on various aspects of the project, with a focus on open-source solutions. This collaborative effort ensures that the team is dedicated to making technology more accessible for those residing in remote areas. 👩‍💻👨‍💻
