BIG THANK YOU to everyone who came by to our MSBDA x Héma-Québec Swabbing Event 🤩 In just a couple of hours, we got 32 McGillians to sign up to Héma-Québec’s Stem Cell Donor Registry 🥳

The event’s success was a great team effort, so we would like to thank every single member of MSBDA who was involved❤️ We would also like to thank our friends from and for making this event better than we expected😁

Come one, come all, to ‘‘Game to spend 45 minutes sharing your health?’’, the 5th edition of the event organized by the Cellule jeunesse of the Association of Blood Donation Volunteers (ABDV)🤩

The event will take place from March 3 to April 6, 2025 in all Héma-Québec Donation Centres‼️ Join by following these 3 steps:

1. See if you’re eligible
2. Book an appointment
3. Fill out a short form in our bio so your donation counts towards the project💛

Are you interested in learning more about stem cell donation?🤔 Do you want to sign up to the Stem Cell Donor Registry?📝

On March 20th, you can have the opportunity to do so🤩 Join us and our friends from Héma-Québec in the Bellini Atrium anytime from 10 am to 2 pm‼️

Not only will we be sharing some cool facts about stem cells and how the donation functions, but also have some swabbing kits for you to get swabbed onsite 😲 (P.S.: you can also register to get a swabbing kit sent home to you if you cannot/do not wish to get swabbed onsite)

We cannot wait to see all of you then😁

🚨The PLASMATTAQUE is back this year for a new edition💛

As a reminder, this project is a friendly competition between different universities whose goal is to collect as many plasma donations as possible between November 4 and 16‼️

You can donate plasma during this period (at any donation center) and/or encourage those around you to do so (don’t forget to specify at reception that you are donating as part of the Plasmattaque project😉)

🚨Le projet PLASMATTAQUE revient cette année pour une nouvelle édition💛

Pour rappel, ce projet est une compétition amicale entre différentes universités dont le but est de récolter le plus de dons de plasma possible entre le 4 et le 16 novembre‼️

Vous pouvez donner du plasma pendant cette période (dans n’importe quel centre de don) et/ou inciter votre entourage à le faire (n’oubliez pas de préciser à l’accueil que vous faites un don dans le cadre du projet Plasmattaque😉)

Dear MSBDA community, students will be roaming the streets of university towns on Halloween night 🎃 (dressed as « zombie caregivers » 🧟‍♂️🧑‍⚕️) to raise awareness about plasma, stem cell 🩸 and human tissue 🧬 donations.

7 campuses are participating this year:
- McGill University
- University of Montreal
- University of Sherbrooke
- Laval University
- University of Montreal in Mauricie
- University of Sherbrooke in Saguenay
- McGill University in Outaouais

Chère communauté MSBDA, des étudiants parcoureront les rues des villes universitaires le soir d’Halloween 🎃 (déguisés en « soignants-zombies » 🧟‍♂️🧑‍⚕️) pour sensibiliser les habitants aux dons de plasma, de cellules souches 🩸 et de tissus humains 🧬.
