The Global Youth Biodiversity Network, in collaboration with , is hosting a side event titled “Removing Brackets on Youth Indicators”

🌍 Young people worldwide are driving efforts to achieve biodiversity targets**, from grassroots actions to high-level decision-making. Yet, their contributions often go unrecognized due to the lack of youth-specific indicators and limited support for youth-led biodiversity monitoring. This leaves youth efforts invisible to decision-makers.

📣This gap also affects the monitoring of key provisions like Target 22 in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, making it harder to achieve a whole-of-society approach to its implementation.
