On Saint-Patrick’s Day, we’re diving in the magic of analog experimental cinema 🧙‍♂️

Join us for an artist talk on Tuesday the 17th at 6pm with Montreal filmmaker Alexandre Larose!

The works of Alexandre Larose amount to a contemporary cinema of attractions. They are a continuous attempt at describing (and making palpable) the overlapping meshes of film, memory, and the way we experience dreams and space. (From Alejandro Bachmann, Austrian Film Museum)

Facilitated by Parsa Fard

Create 3D Augmented Reality (AR) Filters that can be experienced via smartphone camera. Learn the basics of 3D modelling and web-based AR using Blender and Niantic Studio.

This workshop is beginner-friendly and only open to Concordia Students.

The MIA x MODE Fashion Film Screening aims to bridge the gap between (Concordia and outside-Concordia) fashion and film communities, fostering collaboration between designers and filmmakers. The evening will begin with a showcase of films that explore fashion as an art form and a medium of storytelling within filmmaking.

The screening will be followed up by a panel and Q&A session where the directors will share insight on the process behind their works. Guests will have the chance to connect over drinks and snacks, fostering new creative partnerships in a relaxed, social atmosphere˚✧

MODE and MIA collectives are organizing a fashion screening and we are looking for short films about fashion/with interesting fashion 🪽 We want to present a diversity of films relating to fashion and give students the opportunity to show their work. This include, but is not limited to, fiction, documentary, experimental film, animation and video essay.
＊This call for submission is open to everyone ! Although we will prioritize Concordia students, we encourage anyone interested to apply.
Don’t hesitate to message us with any questions or if you wanna talk about the film you’d like to submit. Looking forward to seeing your works 🎂
