This event is a chance to learn more about upcoming officer recruitment, hear what’s ahead for MYAD, and reflect on the past year together. Participants are welcome to come and go as needed and attend whichever portion is most relevant to them.

Last but definitely not least, MYAD at CPD59!!

Last week, five MYAD delegates, Henry, Andrea, Lena, Hiba and Luca, attended the 59th Session of the Commission on Population and Development 🇺🇳

They met with Permanent Missions representatives and Youth Delegates, delivered oral statements, hosted their own side event, and completely crushed it at the UN 🐐🌟

On April 15, 2026, Hiba Maria Belgada, CPD59 Delegate, delivered an oral intervention at a side event organized by the Sikh Human Rights Group, titled “Inclusive Data for Culturally Diverse Gender Identities: Lessons from Mexico’s Muxes”. 🇺🇳

Hiba shared Indigenous traditional knowledge, the realities that Indigenous peoples face in Canada, and the need for polices to come into practice. 🧡

Congratulations Hiba, your speech was mesmerizing to all of us! 👏👏 And a big thank you to the SHRG for giving youth a platform!

Meet our speaker and workshop facilitators!

Allan Muhereza Murangira is a Pan-African lawyer and advocate for systemic reform in fiscal governance and the global financial architecture. He is committed to transforming structures that perpetuate inequality and underdevelopment across Africa and beyond.

As Team Lead at the Youth for Tax Justice Network, he centers youth voices in economic policymaking spaces. His work advances equity, accountability, and inclusive development through advocacy and movement-building, focusing on fair taxation, debt justice, structural reform, coalition-building, and leveraging law, policy, and civic engagement to promote justice and sustainable development across regional and global policy arenas strategically.
