Our mission remains simple, clear, and structured.

We create safe spaces where children and youth can learn, play, and grow through education, soccer, and life skills. Every action we take is guided by one goal: to restore hope, build resilience, and unite communities.

We believe in consistency over complexity, impact over noise, and purpose over everything. Step by step, field by field, life by life, we are building a future rooted in peace and opportunity.

To everyone supporting us on this journey of transformation, thank you. Your trust, your belief, and your contribution are changing lives every single day.

Together, we are making it possible. 🤝

Be the Next 💚
where you come from does not define your limits, but your courage defines your legacy.

SHUKURANI NDAYE is the definition of resilience turned into purpose. After spending 10 years in Nakivale Refugee Settlement, facing uncertainty and challenges that many cannot imagine, she never allowed her light to fade. Today, resettled in the United States 🇺🇸, she carries not only her story but a mission rooted in love, compassion, and giving back.

What makes Shukurani truly extraordinary is her decision to return to where it all began. While many would choose comfort, she chose impact. She came back to Nakivale to stand with children, to uplift them, to remind them that their dreams are valid and their futures are still bright. Through her presence at the Hubert Mweze Foundation HMF, she shares hope, kindness, and strength with every child she meets.

Her journey is a powerful reminder that where you come from does not define your limits, but your courage defines your legacy. Shukurani is not just changing lives, she is planting seeds of belief in a generation that needs it most.

Be the next to rise. Be the next to give back. Be the next to inspire.

Thank you, Shukurani, for inspiring the world and all of us ❤️

We kicked off Women’s Month the best way possible — with a victory 🏆

At the Hubert Mweze Foundation, this moment is more than just a win in a U15 league. It is the result of resilience, hard work, and belief in the power of girls. These young champions have shown that when girls are given opportunities, support, and a safe space to grow, they rise beyond expectations.

This trophy represents every early morning training, every challenge faced, and every barrier broken. In a community where many girls are still fighting for equal access to sports and education, this victory sends a powerful message: girls belong on the field, in leadership, and at the top.

As we begin Women’s Month, we celebrate not only this achievement but also the courage of every girl who dares to dream. This is just the beginning.

We remain committed to empowering more girls across the 24 villages we serve — through sports, education, and leadership.

Because when you invest in a girl, you empower a generation.

We proudly launched the Month of Women with a powerful and inspiring community gathering in the Rubondo Zone. To mark this important moment, the Hubert Mweze Foundation (HMF) invited village leaders and parents from across 24 villages to come together and share testimonies on the impact of our work.

It was a moment of truth, reflection, and celebration. Community voices highlighted how our programs—especially through soccer and youth engagement—are transforming the lives of children, giving them hope, discipline, and a sense of purpose.

One of the most inspiring highlights of this journey is the incredible achievement of our girls’ team. We are proud to share that they lifted a trophy in a competitive league organized by UNHCR and its local partners. This victory is more than just a win—it is a symbol of resilience, empowerment, and the rising strength of young girls in our community.

As we celebrate women this month, we recognize the power, courage, and potential of every girl. This is just the beginning.

Together, we continue building a future where every child, especially every girl, can dream, grow, and succeed.

JOIN US IN THIS CAMPAIGN FOR THE WOMEN MONTH IN NAKIVALE REFUGEE CAMP, UGANDA 🇺🇬

In a recent field survey conducted by our team in Uganda, we witnessed a reality that cannot be ignored.

Following new resettlements led by UNHCR, thousands of refugees have arrived in the Nakivale Refugee Settlement. Among them, 46% are young girls between the ages of 14 and 25 — strong, resilient, yet deeply vulnerable.

Most of these girls are fleeing from the Democratic Republic of Congo, escaping the ongoing crisis in the eastern region. They arrive in Uganda with courage… but often with nothing.

No clothes. No safety. No basic necessities.

And for many, one silent struggle remains unseen:

👉 Managing their menstrual cycle without access to hygiene materials.

During our visits, we discovered something even more heartbreaking
many girls are forced to share the same hygiene materials, sometimes using one sanitary pad between two or more people, or relying on unsafe alternatives. This puts their health at serious risk and strips away their dignity.

Imagine facing displacement, trauma, and uncertainty — and at the same time lacking something as basic as sanitary pads, soap, or even a bucket for personal care.

This is not just about hygiene.
This is about dignity, health, and human rights.

At the Hubert Mweze Foundation (HMF), we refuse to stay silent while this is happening.

💙 We choose to act.
💙 We choose to stand with these girls.
💙 We choose to restore dignity.

Today, we are launching a campaign with one clear mission:

👉 To support 1,000 girls in Nakivale with essential hygiene kits, including:
- Soap
- Buckets
- Sanitary pads

These simple items can change everything. They allow a girl to feel safe, confident, and respected — even in the hardest circumstances.

But we cannot do this alone.

This is where you come in.

Your support can help us reach more girls, faster. Your voice can amplify this message. Your contribution can restore dignity to someone who needs it most.

✨ Together, we can turn compassion into action.
✨ Together, we can protect the dignity of 1,000 girls.
✨ Together, we can prove that humanity still cares.

Join us in this mission.
Stand with us. Act with us.

Because no girl should have to choose between survival and dignity.

Story of the Week – Meet Mbemberi, Referee of the Week

Meet Mbemberi, a 15-year-old girl whose life reflects courage, resilience, and hope. Her journey began in Burundi, a country affected by cycles of violence that forced many families to flee in search of safety. Growing up in the shadow of war, Mbemberi lost the simplicity of childhood as survival became a daily reality. Like thousands of others, she was forced to leave her home and seek refuge, carrying pain and fear—but also a powerful dream.

In the refugee camp, Mbemberi found a new beginning through the Hubert Mweze Foundation (HMF). She first joined as a food distribution volunteer, serving meals to young players during match days. For her, food was more than nourishment; it was dignity, care, and solidarity. While helping others, she was also rebuilding her own confidence and sense of purpose.

When HMF opened opportunities for youth to train as football referees, Mbemberi took a brave step forward. In a space where few girls are visible, she chose courage over fear. Through discipline, fairness, and commitment, she earned respect on the pitch and was proudly recognized as Referee of the Week.

This story of the week goes further. HMF is committed to supporting Mbemberi to access high-level soccer referee training, helping her strengthen her skills, gain certification, and reach higher levels of competition. This support is an investment in her future and in the power of refugee youth.

Mbemberi’s journey reminds us of a simple truth: refugees have dreams. When given opportunity and belief, those dreams can rise beyond war and borders—and inspire an entire generation.

NAKIVALE REFUGEE CAMP UGANDA 🇺🇬
Without These Incredible Girls, Our Christmas camp Wouldn’t Be a Success

Gender equality is clearly demonstrated through the actions of girls under the age of 16 who are actively supporting boys during the games. At this Christmas camp, equality is not just a concept; it is lived every single day on the field and beyond. These young girls play an essential role by providing meals, refereeing matches, encouraging players, and offering first aid on the pitch. Their commitment proves that leadership, responsibility, and care are not defined by gender or age.

By preparing and serving meals, these girls ensure that every boy has the energy and strength to play with confidence and dignity. Through refereeing, they promote fairness, discipline, and respect, showing that girls belong in leadership roles within sports spaces often dominated by boys. Their voices on the sidelines, full of encouragement and motivation, create a positive environment where teamwork and mutual respect can grow.

On the pitch, when injuries occur, these girls step in with courage and calmness to provide first aid. In moments of pain or fear, their care and quick response make a real difference. They bring safety, reassurance, and professionalism, even under pressure. Their presence helps ensure that every child feels protected and valued.

What makes their contribution even more powerful is their age. Being under 16, they are already breaking stereotypes and challenging traditional gender roles. They are teaching boys, peers, and the wider community that girls are capable leaders, protectors, and changemakers. This daily collaboration between girls and boys builds respect and lays a strong foundation for a more equal future.

Through these powerful actions, gender equality becomes visible and meaningful. These incredible girls are not just supporting a Christmas camp; they are shaping mindsets, inspiring change, and proving that when girls are empowered, everyone wins.

Nakivale Refugee camp Uganda 🇺🇬
This is how we celebrate World Volunteer Day at the Hubert Mweze Foundation HMF.
Today, we proudly introduce Mbemberi, a 15-year-old refugee girl from Burundi who is redefining what it means to volunteer and lead in her community. In Nakivale, Rubondo zone, where traditions often guide girls toward the kitchen during volunteer activities, Mbemberi chose a different path, one that inspires courage, confidence, and change.

When HMF launched a call for volunteers for our soccer program, many girls offered their help in cooking and serving food, which is already an incredible contribution. But Mbemberi looked at the soccer field and saw a space where she too belonged. She stepped forward and asked to join our 3 day referee training, becoming the first girl to ever referee a boys soccer match in this part of Nakivale.

Her courage did more than simply put her on the field. It opened doors for other girls to see themselves in roles traditionally reserved for boys. Today, she stands as a symbol of determination and equality, showing that skills, passion, and leadership have no gender.

At HMF, we believe that volunteering is not only about giving time. It is about transforming lives, both yours and those around you. Mbemberi’s milestone achievement is a reminder that when young people are empowered, they break barriers that uplift entire communities.

As we celebrate World Volunteer Day, we honor every young person who chooses to serve, lead, and inspire. And today, we celebrate Mbemberi, whose whistle on the field echoes a louder message. Girls can lead anywhere.

Congratulations, trailblazer. The future of sports and volunteerism is brighter because of you.
