Congratulations Patrick and Creative Rebel Studio!
It’s our birthday!!! Two years ago in October we opened the doors to our Main Street location … and we’re still here!
Yep, it’s still scary every month. When I opened the studio, I had a transition job online that allowed me to pay the bills without as much worry. I left that job in May 2024, and we’re still trucking.
To the families and shoppers who regularly show up — to those who say they’ll come and actually do: THANK YOU. You’ve made this place possible.
To the families and shoppers who say they will be here but haven’t been yet: I hope we’ll see you soon, and I hope it’ll be a recurring thing.
To our landlord who keeps costs low as he promised when we first opened and trusts me to make decisions about the actual physical space: thank you, thank you, thank you. This would be impossible without your support.
We aren’t Michael’s. We can’t rely on chain store money to keep the lights on. We can’t pay the bills with well-intentioned comments about how the community needs a space like this. So if you’ve been in and used it, I hope you realize how grateful I am for every visit, whether it’s a $10 drop in or you’re buying a $3 pen or a $1000 painting. I am so, so grateful for you.
