Join us on November 14 to celebrate VegOttawa's 20th anniversary! We've got a fun evening planned to commemorate the past two decades of our organization's work to support and grow the vegan movement in Canada's capital, including the many people who've volunteered along the way.

If you are a current or former volunteer with VegOttawa, please plan to join us! Whether you've served on Ottawa's board, been part of the veg fest planning committee, or held any other role with the organization (such as on our events team or advocacy team) you'll get a complimentary ticket to come celebrate all that we've accomplished together!

Members also get discounted tickets, though the event is open to all. Each ticket includes a burger, snacks, drink and cake.

Call for volunteers!

We're gearing up to begin planning VegOttawa Fest 2027 and we need ~5 more volunteers to join our planning committee. This group of dedicated volunteers will shape the city's next veg fest!

This committee will meet 1-2 times monthly from October to June, and will involve about 10-12 hours of work per volunteer per month. There are several possible roles, and almost all work is done virtually. We'll provide lots of guidance, you just need passion, a bit of time, and a computer with internet.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of co-hosting a second Welcome Breakfast with the Centretown Community Health Centre! Our team of awesome volunteers made over 50 breakfast sandwiches: tofu egg patties, homemade tempeh bacon, Violife cheddar cheese, sliced ripe tomatoes and Hellman's vegan mayo, served on toasted whole grain English muffins. These were served to the community centre's clients along with fresh fruit, tea, and coffee.

It was a great morning of connecting, giving back, and sharing food that is kind to animals, sustainable for our planet, and nourishing for our bodies. 💚

We had fun collaborating with the Centretown Community Health Centre earlier this month to host a Welcome Breakfast for seniors and new immigrants! We prepared a healthy pancake breakfast for over 30 people, with real Canadian maple syrup.

We topped off the morning with some songs on the guitar by Alan!

We look forward to part 2 in August. Thanks to the many volunteers who helped to make this happen. 💚
