Migdal Ohr plays a pivotal role in protecting 12,000 of Israel's most vulnerable children. Migdal Ohr “Tower of Light” was established in 1972 by Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid

Grossman, Israel Prize Winner and Presidential Medal of Distinction recipient. Through its top-class, country-wide network of schools and educational programs, Migdal Ohr has cemented itself as an essential institution in Israel’s infrastructure. Based in Migdal HaEmek in Israel’s north, the organization is among Israel’s leading nonprofits, providing free essential services - housing, schooling, medical and dental care, clothing, libraries, after school enrichment courses and vocational training - annually to:
- Orphans
- Abused children
- Impoverished children
- New immigrant children
- Youth with drug addiction
- Youth in trouble with the law
- Ultra Orthodox youth that stray from their upbringing.

Honored by Rabbi Yitzchak Dovid Grossman, the event was filled with inspiring words, songs, and heartfelt performances by the students—and even our future kindergarten students!

The highlight was each girl receiving her own siddur from Rabbi Grossman.

Orot BaEmek held an end-of-year ceremony yesterday, celebrating both 8th-grade graduates and first-graders receiving their first siddurim. With inspiring words from Rabbi Grossman and beautiful student performances, the event highlighted the school’s dedication to nurturing confidence, faith, and growth.

Earlier this week, as sirens sounded in Migdal HaEmek during morning prayers, students made their way to the shelter.

In a powerful display of faith, they remained united in prayer—transforming a moment of fear into one of strength, resilience, and hope.

Even in the shelter, Migdal Ohr’s children continued to recite Tehillim for the safety and protection of Am Yisrael.

The moving ceremony highlighted the importance of tefillah, Torah values, and believing in each child’s unique potential, inspired by Parashat Shelach.

Mazal tov to 8th-grade student Yosef Cohen for winning 1st place nationwide in Israel’s National Gemara Quiz on HaIsh Mekadesh (Masechet Kiddushin)!

Competing in Jerusalem against top students from across the country, Yosef’s achievement reflects months of dedication alongside his classmates, guided by Rabbi David Bitton.
