SPIRITUAL INVENTORY PART 2 — Day 10 of 14

Owning My Part

Scripture:
“Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord.” — Lamentations 3:40

Reflection:
Inventory is not only about identifying how others have hurt us. It is also about recognizing how we may have hurt others.

Growth happens when we stop blaming and begin taking responsibility for our actions. This does not mean accepting responsibility for things that are not ours. It means honestly owning our part.

God honors humility and repentance. When we bring our failures to Him, He meets us with grace.

Prayer:
Lord, help me see my actions clearly. Give me humility to admit my mistakes and courage to make things right where possible. Amen.

Family Hurts

Scripture:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Reflection:
Family relationships can be among our greatest blessings and our deepest sources of pain. Words spoken years ago, unmet needs, abandonment, neglect, or conflict can leave lasting scars.

A spiritual inventory gives us permission to acknowledge those hurts instead of pretending they never happened.

God understands family pain. He invites us to bring it to Him and trust Him with the healing process.

Prayer:
Father, help me honestly face the hurts I have experienced within my family. Bring healing where there is pain and peace where there is confusion. Amen.

Healing Physical Wounds

Scripture:
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” — Psalm 147:3

Reflection:
Many people carry wounds caused by the actions of others. Some are visible, while others remain hidden for years. These wounds can shape our beliefs, relationships, and recovery journey.

God sees every hurt. Nothing is too painful, too old, or too complicated for His healing touch.

Today, bring your wounds honestly before Him. Allow His love to begin restoring the places that have been broken.

Prayer:
Jesus, You know every hurt I carry. Bring healing to the wounded places in my life and help me trust You with my pain. Amen.

SPIRITUAL INVENTORY PART 2 — Day 7 of 14

Freedom from Excess

Scripture:
“I will not be mastered by anything.” — 1 Corinthians 6:12

Reflection:
Addictions and compulsive behaviors often begin as attempts to find relief. Over time, what promised comfort becomes a source of bo***ge.

God desires freedom for His children. He wants us to live under His guidance rather than under the control of destructive habits.

Take inventory today. Is there anything in your life that has gained too much influence? Ask God to help you surrender it to Him.

Prayer:
Lord, reveal anything that is controlling me. Give me the strength to surrender it and walk in the freedom You provide. Amen.

SPIRITUAL INVENTORY PART 2 — Day 5 of 14

Focusing on What Is Good

Scripture:
“Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—think about such things.” — Philippians 4:8

Reflection:
What we consistently focus on shapes our outlook and behavior. If we dwell on failures, fears, and regrets, discouragement often follows. If we focus on God’s truth and promises, hope begins to grow.

This does not mean ignoring reality. It means viewing reality through the lens of God’s faithfulness.

Today, intentionally redirect your thoughts toward things that are true, pure, and life-giving. Let God’s truth become louder than your fears.

Prayer:
Lord, help me focus on what is good and pleasing to You. Train my mind to dwell on Your truth rather than my fears. Amen.

SPIRITUAL INVENTORY PART 2 — Day 4 of 14

Guarding What Enters

Scripture:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

Reflection:
Our minds are constantly influenced by what we watch, read, listen to, and think about. Every day we make choices about what enters our hearts.

Healthy recovery requires intentional choices. If we continually fill our minds with negativity, temptation, or unhealthy influences, those things will eventually shape our attitudes and actions.

Ask yourself today: What am I feeding my soul? Are the things entering my mind drawing me closer to Christ or pulling me away?

Prayer:
Father, help me guard my heart and mind. Give me wisdom to choose influences that strengthen my walk with You. Amen.

SPIRITUAL INVENTORY PART 2 — Day 3 of 14

Facing Denial

Scripture:
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32

Reflection:
Denial is one of the greatest obstacles to recovery. It convinces us that things are not as bad as they seem or that we can manage on our own. While denial may temporarily protect us from pain, it ultimately prevents healing.

God’s truth can sometimes be uncomfortable, but it is always freeing. The more honest we become about our struggles, the more room God has to work in our lives.

Today, consider whether there are areas you have avoided confronting. Freedom begins where honesty starts.

Prayer:
Lord, help me recognize any areas of denial in my life. Give me the courage to face the truth and trust You with what I find. Amen.
