We are in awe of our tutoring students every session! People with dyslexia often have remarkable strengths that extend far beyond reading and writing. They tend to be creative thinkers who see patterns and connections others might miss, bringing fresh perspectives to problem-solving. Many are strong visual thinkers with excellent spatial reasoning and imagination, which can lead to success in fields like design, engineering, and the arts. Their perseverance, empathy, and ability to think “outside the box” help them approach challenges with innovation and resilience—qualities that make dyslexic thinkers valuable contributors in any setting.

Today is World Dyslexia Awareness Day — a time to celebrate the strengths, advocate for support, and shine a light on the often invisible challenges people with dyslexia face.

Did you know that dyslexia is a neurological difference that affects word recognition, spelling, and decoding—not intelligence? Many with dyslexia can thrive when given the right tools and support.

One incredible initiative making change is the SRCF Learning Centres. These centres offer free, one-to-one tutoring using the Orton-Gillingham approach to help children with dyslexia learn to read. Tuition, training for tutors, and all services are provided at no cost to families. 

💜 Let’s amplify support for inclusive learning.
💜 Let’s talk openly about dyslexia and fight stigma.
💜 Let’s support programs like SRCF’s so no child is left behind because of how their brain works.
