Riley's Legacy Cat Rescue

Riley's Legacy Cat Rescue located in Moncton, NB Canada. Also, all are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. When we do have openings, we ONLY take in stray cats, not owned cats.

Our adoption fees are as follows and include:

🐾 $250 per kitten
🐾 $200 per adult
🐾 $450 bonded kitten pairs
🐾 $350 bonded adult pairs We are a group of volunteers committed to helping cats and kittens who are homeless and in need of medical attention and a forever home. All cats & kittens in our care are examined by our vet, tested for feline Leukemia, treated with revolution, vaccinated (first

vaccinations for kittens), and if needed, treated for other medical needs they may require. The program is run by volunteers and operates solely on donations & fundraising. If you would like to make a cash or credit card donation directly on our vet bills, you may do so by calling Vetcare at 388-8880, Coverdale vet at 383-4838, Riverview animal hospital at 387-4015 OR by e transfer or PayPal to [email protected]

Riley's Legacy Cat Rescue is not open-door shelter. We are a no-kill rescue group with a maximum number of cats that we can afford, both financially and physically, to care for. We do not have a dedicated building but use foster homes throughout Moncton, Riverview & Dieppe. The number of cats we can allow into our program is directly related to the number of cats that we adopt into loving homes, thus freeing up a foster home to allow another cat in need to come into care. Please note: If your stray is injured or ill, please contact us and detail the circumstances; our focus is on abandoned and at-risk cats, so we will do our best to accommodate or assist you. We cannot assist you in placing a cat obtained from a private party under any circumstances. We are unable to help with feral (wild) cats. We can however suggest 2 local TNR groups that may be able to assist you in these cases. If you would like to surrender your own cat:
Riley's Legacy Cat Rescue is for stray or abandoned adoptable cats of all ages. We do not take in owner-surrendered cats. Please contact friends or family, the Greater Moncton SPCA, or one of the other rescue organizations in the area. Please understand that ALL shelters, whether open door or not, are always at maximum capacity. Could not have said it better!

Spaying and neutering must be part of every adoption—no exceptions.

Any reputable rescue or shelter already ensures that cats and kittens are ALL fixed before they go to their new homes. Choosing not to do this is contributing to the very problem we are all trying to solve.

Saying you’ve found “good homes” is not a guarantee.
Good intentions do not prevent unwanted litters.

No matter what someone promises, or how many agreements they sign, the reality is that follow-through is never guaranteed. The only way to 100% ensure a cat is spayed or neutered is to have it done prior to adoption.

This isn’t about offending anyone. It’s about being honest, responsible, and committed to reducing overpopulation and suffering.

And PLEASE don’t turn this into a “vets are too expensive” or “make spaying and neutering more affordable” post. If you want to do something constructive, feel free to write to your local MLAs or Government officials and flood them with messages about the need for low-cost spay and neuter clinics.

A Gentle Reminder of Our Mission 🐾

Everything we do is a commitment to helping abandoned and homeless cats. These are the cats with nowhere else to go—the ones left behind, forgotten, or struggling to survive on their own. They are our priority, and every decision we make is guided by that focus.

We do NOT offer TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) services. We understand how important TNR work is, and we truly respect the organizations and individuals dedicated to it. However, with our limited resources, we must stay focused on the cats already in immediate need of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming.

We are sometimes able to accept owner surrenders, but only when space and funding allow. Taking in a cat is a long-term commitment that includes veterinary care, food, supplies, and time to ensure they are properly prepared for adoption.

We know it can be disappointing when we’re unable to help in every situation. However, being rude, aggressive, or disrespectful will not change our capacity or our policies.

Staying true to our mission ensures that we can continue making a meaningful difference for the cats who rely on us most.

Thank you for your continued support 🐱💛

Meet Gabby – A Gentle Soul Looking for Her Second Chance
🐾 Born in 2016

Gabby came back into our care under heartbreaking circumstances after her beloved dad passed away. It’s clear she was deeply loved, and now she’s ready to share that love with a new family.

Since arriving, Gabby has been on a journey of renewal—she’s slimmed down a fair bit and even discovered a new interest in toys! This mellow sweetheart enjoys lounging in cozy spots, observing the world around her, and occasionally batting around a toy when the mood strikes. She also LOVES sunbathing! 🌞

Gabby would thrive in a calm home where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy gentle companionship. She has so much love to give and is simply waiting for the right person to give it to.

Could you be the next chapter in Gabby’s story? 🐱💕

Approximate DOB: April 2025

Meet Nova and Nikki — a beautiful bonded sister pair searching for a calm, patient forever home where they can continue to grow together 💕

These girls share a very close bond and take comfort in having each other by their side. While they may be a little reserved at first, having each other nearby gives them confidence and helps them settle in much more quickly.

Watching their connection and the way they rely on one another is truly special.

Nova ( unique white markings) and Nikki are looking for a quieter home without other pets or very young children, where they can feel safe, relaxed, and loved at their own pace. With patience, understanding, and consistency, these sweet sisters will make wonderful companions for someone willing to give them the time they need to blossom.

If you think you may be the perfect forever family for Nova and Nikki, please reach out 💕
