OUR SHELTER STAFF ARE HELPING SAVE LIVES.

Let's stand behind the people who stand on the front lines.

Over the past several weeks, many community members have reached out asking how they can support the front-line staff responding to the overdose crisis in our shelters.

In just 25 days, our staff have responded to more than 200 overdoses. This is not a statistic for us. This is our daily reality.

Our staff are responding in real time—administering Naloxone, calling emergency services, managing medical crises, and holding space for life-and-death moments. Then they do it again. And again. And again.

They are showing up through trauma, loss, and exhaustion while continuing to provide safety and care for every person who walks through our doors.

This system is under extreme pressure. So are the people holding it together.Because so many people have asked how they can help, we are launching our Adopt-a-Shift Initiative.

We are inviting local businesses, service clubs, faith groups, families, and community members to show their appreciation through simple, direct support:

☕ Coffee or drinks

🥪 Meals or snacks

💌 Notes of encouragement

🍪 Small food donations or treats

If you would like to support but need a simpler option, cash donations are also accepted, and we will ensure a shift is adopted on your behalf. Each shift has approximately 11–13 staff working at a time.

💛 Sponsors will receive:

• A visible sign during the shift: "This shift has been adopted by (Your Name/Organization)"

• Public recognition on our social media channels

To adopt a shift:

📞 506-688-2279

📧 [email protected]

📞 Main Office: 506-854-3499

Our staff show up every day for people experiencing homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and crisis.

Many of you have asked how you can support them. This is one way to make a difference.

What an incredible Day of Caring 2026! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing volunteers, United Way - Greater Moncton & SENB, Centraide - Grand Moncton & SENB and everyone who helped make this day such a success.

With the support of dedicated volunteer teams, we tackled major projects at both the Community Hub on Joyce and our storage units. Volunteers rolled up their sleeves, sorted supplies, loaded trailers, organized storage spaces, and helped us move valuable items to new homes through Habitat for Humanity. Their energy, teamwork, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made a tremendous difference.

These projects may not always be the most visible, but they are essential to helping us use our resources more effectively and continue serving our community.

To every volunteer who gave their time, effort, and enthusiasm — thank you. Your contribution will have a lasting impact on our organization and the people we serve.

Together, we accomplished far more than we could have done alone. ❤️

There are moments in this work that remind us just how extraordinary our front-line teams truly are.

Over the past week, our shelter staff have responded to an alarming number of overdoses and emergencies. Behind every response is a person in crisis, a life that matters, and a staff member stepping forward without hesitation.

Our teams have administered naloxone, performed lifesaving interventions, coordinated emergency responses, comforted frightened individuals, supported one another through difficult moments, and then continued caring for everyone else who needed them.

While many people never see what happens behind shelter doors, our staff are there every day and every night, providing immediate support when people are at their most vulnerable.

We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, courage, and resilience demonstrated by our shelter teams. The work is demanding. The hours are long. The situations are often heartbreaking. Their dedication to our community and to the people we serve is evident in every act of kindness, every emergency response, and every moment of care they provide. While the challenges are overwhelming, it is often through this work that we witness some of the most powerful examples of human resilience, strength, and hope. Every step forward, no matter how small, reminds us why this work matters.

To every front-line worker who has responded to a medical emergency, sat beside someone in distress, made a difficult phone call, completed another incident report, checked in on a colleague, or simply carried on through a difficult shift—thank you.

Your commitment saves lives, strengthens our community, and makes a difference every single day.❤️
