I would like to thank Liam for agreeing on a Sunday to voice the intro to our Labour Day Hour of Music from 10am to 11am. dedicated to Danny Legere, who was a fellow Miramichier at one time. His wife Cindy, is a proud Miramichier still.

Danny Legere was not only a strong union activist but also a great personal friend. Danny and Cynthia attended Shawn and my wedding on August 28, 2010 and it was his first gay wedding so he told me but he sprang into action when our photographer cancelled at the last minute and we shall cherish those photo as we remember him tomorrow during his "holiday".

You can not have a Labour Day without Danny Legere's name being mentioned. His involvement in the labour movement was such that it went hand and hand.

There were many versions of our intro done this morning but the one we picked, I feel will do Danny justice.

Liam voiced the intro and I acted as executive producer. The songs if you like them or hate them were picked by me.

The song we picked after the intro will be recognized instantly among labour activists and was Danny's mantra.

We sure hope you will tune in our show tomorrow morning from 10am to 11am to not only pay tribute to a great man but to remember all workers who are not longer with us.

****Found a new location****

The Moncton and District Labour Council is pleased to announce we were able to find an alternate location to host our BBQ for Labour Day. It will be held August 31st from 12-2pm in the PSAC parking lot 85 Rufin Street in Dieppe. We hope to see you there!

Moncton District Labour Council would like to inform you that our annual Labour Day Picnic scheduled on August 31st at Centennial Park has been canceled.
This decision was made due to recent restrictions put in place by the City of Moncton.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding. We look forward to celebrating with all of you at future event.

Between workers demanding fair pay and a corporation forcing them to work for free, the Liberals sided with the corporation. Is that what Canadians voted for? 💬

Minister Hadju’s decision to force binding arbitration on flight attendants is a direct attack on free collective bargaining.

Flight attendants keep us safe in the skies, yet Air Canada still refuses to pay them for critical safety duties. No worker should ever be forced to work for free. ✈️

To Canadians who voted Liberal in the last election: you did not vote for a government that tramples on workers’ rights.
