Rotary AIP is proud to once again support Alternative Residences Alternatives Inc., an incredible organization doing meaningful work right here in our community. 🏠

Their newest location in downtown Moncton now has 8 residents, and we were honoured to welcome each with an essentials kit to help them settle in and feel at home from day one.

Each kit included a hamper, water bottle, two pairs of socks, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, a toothbrush, deodorant, a first aid kit, popcorn, and a granola bar. Small things, perhaps, but we believe that everyone deserves to begin a new chapter with a little warmth and dignity.

This is what Rotary is about. Service above self, and showing up for the people in our community who need it most. We are grateful to Alternative Residences for the vital work they do every single day, and we look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come.

Rotary AIP est fier d’appuyer à nouveau Alternative Residences, une organisation remarquable qui accomplit un travail précieux ici même dans notre communauté. 🏠

Leur tout nouveau foyer au centre-ville de Moncton accueille maintenant 8 résidents, et nous avons eu l’honneur de les accueillir chacun avec une trousse d’essentiels pour les aider à s’installer et à se sentir chez eux dès le premier jour.

Chaque trousse comprenait une bouteille d’eau, deux paires de chaussettes, du shampooing, du savon, du dentifrice, une brosse à dents, du déodorant, une trousse de premiers soins, du maïs soufflé et une barre granola. De petites choses, peut-être, mais nous croyons que chaque personne mérite de commencer un nouveau chapitre avec un peu de chaleur et de dignité.

C’est ce qu’est Rotary. Servir avant soi, et être présent pour les membres de notre communauté qui en ont le plus besoin. Nous sommes reconnaissants envers Alternative Residences pour le travail vital qu’ils accomplissent chaque jour, et nous avons hâte de poursuivre ce partenariat pour les années à venir.

This afternoon, Rotary AIP joined fellow Rotarians from across our area at Moncton City Hall for the raising of the End Polio Now flag.

It was wonderful to see so many of our area clubs represented, united around a cause that has defined Rotary's global mission for decades. A heartfelt thank you to Area Governor Sherry Trenholm for organizing today's ceremony, and to Rotary Moncton President Edgar Allain for bringing us together afterward to connect and enjoy a little time together as a Rotary community.

Why this matters:

Rotary International has been working to eradicate polio since 1985, and the progress has been extraordinary. Thanks to the efforts of Rotarians, global health partners, and volunteers around the world, polio cases have been reduced by more than 99.9% worldwide. What was once a disease that paralyzed hundreds of thousands of children every year now exists in only a small number of countries. But the work is not done. Until polio is fully eradicated in every corner of the world, children remain at risk, and Rotary remains committed.

Every dollar raised, every awareness moment, and every flag raised brings us one step closer to a polio-free world. Today was one of those moments, and we are proud to stand on the right side of history alongside our fellow Rotarians.

Together, we will end polio.

Cet après-midi, Rotary AIP s'est joint à des Rotariens de partout dans notre secteur à l'hôtel de ville de Moncton pour le lever du drapeau Mettons fin à la polio, et ce fut un moment véritablement significatif.

Quel bonheur de voir autant de clubs de notre région représentés, unis autour d'une cause qui définit la mission mondiale de Rotary depuis des décennies. Un merci sincère à la Gouverneure de secteur Sherry Trenholm pour l'organisation de la cérémonie d'aujourd'hui, et au Président de Rotary Moncton, Edgar Allain, pour nous avoir réunis par la suite pour échanger et profiter d'un bon moment en communauté Rotary.

Pourquoi c'est important:

Rotary International travaille à l'éradication de la polio depuis 1985, et les progrès accomplis sont extraordinaires. Grâce aux efforts des Rotariens, des partenaires mondiaux de la santé et des bénévoles aux quatre coins du monde, les cas de polio ont été réduits de plus de 99,9 % à l'échelle mondiale. Une maladie qui paralysait autrefois des centaines de milliers d'enfants chaque année n'existe aujourd'hui que dans un très petit nombre de pays. Mais le travail n'est pas terminé. Tant que la polio n'est pas complètement éradiquée partout dans le monde, les enfants demeurent à risque, et Rotary demeure engagé.

Chaque dollar amassé, chaque moment de sensibilisation et chaque drapeau levé nous rapproche d'un monde sans polio. Aujourd'hui était l'un de ces moments, et nous sommes fiers de nous tenir du bon côté de l'histoire aux côtés de nos collègues Rotariens.

The 12th Annual Witches Ball is in the books, and what a night it was! 🧙

Rotary AIP has had the honour of hosting this beloved event for several years now, and every single time, it reminds us why we keep coming back. Year after year, familiar faces return and new ones arrive to experience it for the very first time. And year after year, the costumes absolutely blow us away. This year was no exception. The creativity, the dedication, the sheer commitment to the craft? Truly impressive. You showed up, and you showed out.

None of this happens without the incredible people who pour their hearts into making it happen. A heartfelt thank you to our Witches Ball committee, led this year by our own Sarah, owner of Mystic Moons right here in downtown Moncton. Sarah and her team brought this event to life from décor to dance floor, made sure every guest had the best possible time, and stayed until everything was wrapped up and cleaned up. We are so grateful.

A special thank you to the many volunteers who gave their time to the event as well. Some Rotarians, and some community friends.

Events like the Witches Ball are also how Rotary AIP is able to give back to our community, and giving back is at the very heart of what Rotary is about. Thank you to everyone who came out, dressed up, and made this night one to remember. See you next year! 🖤🎃

La 12e édition du Bal des Sorcières est maintenant dans les livres, et quelle soirée ce fut! 🧙✨

Rotary AIP a l'honneur d'accueillir cet événement bien-aimé depuis plusieurs années, et chaque fois, cela nous rappelle pourquoi nous y revenons avec autant de plaisir. Année après année, des visages familiers reviennent et de nouveaux arrivent pour vivre l'expérience pour la toute première fois. Et chaque année, les costumes nous époustouflent. Cette année ne faisait pas exception. La créativité, le dévouement, l'engagement total envers le personnage? Vraiment impressionnant. Vous êtes venus, et vous avez tout donné.

Rien de tout cela ne serait possible sans les personnes incroyables qui mettent tout leur coeur dans l'organisation. Un merci sincère à notre comité du Bal des Sorcières, dirigé cette année par notre propre Sarah, Lady Rose, propriétaire de Mystic Moons au centre-ville de Moncton. Sarah et son équipe ont donné vie à cet événement, de la décoration jusqu'à la piste de danse, ont veillé à ce que chaque invité passe le meilleur moment possible, et sont restés jusqu'à ce que tout soit terminé et rangé. Nous leur sommes tellement reconnaissants.

Des événements comme le Bal des Sorcières permettent aussi à Rotary AIP de redonner à notre communauté, et redonner est au coeur même de ce qu'est Rotary. Merci à tous ceux qui sont venus, qui se sont costumés, et qui ont fait de cette soirée un souvenir inoubliable. À l'année prochaine! 🖤🎃

Rotary AIP is bursting with pride today. Our very own Michelle has been named the 2026 Phenomenal Woman of the Year by Business & Professional Women of Greater Moncton.

Michelle, you are exactly what this award was made for. You show up, you give generously, and you make a real and lasting difference in the lives of people around you. Your impact on our community is immeasurable, and we are so grateful to call you one of our own. Congratulations, Michelle. You are, and have always been, phenomenal.

Rotary AIP est immensément fier aujourd'hui. Notre propre Michelle a été nommée Femme phénoménale de l'année 2026 par Femmes d'affaires et professionnelles du Grand Moncton.

This evening at our regular membership meeting, Rotary AIP had the honour of welcoming our newest member, Theresa Murray, into our club family. Theresa, we are so glad you are here and we cannot wait to see the incredible things you will bring to this community. Welcome home!

We also had a fantastic presentation from two of our own, David Jacombs and Dan Sacchetto, who took us on a fascinating deep dive into artificial intelligence. From how dramatically AI has evolved in just the last six months to how it can be put to work right here in Rotary, thank you, David and Dan, for sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with us tonight.

Ce soir, lors de notre réunion régulière des membres, Rotary AIP a eu le grand plaisir d'accueillir notre toute nouvelle membre, Theresa Murray. Theresa, nous sommes tellement heureux de t'avoir parmi nous et nous avons hâte de voir tout ce que tu apporteras à notre communauté. Bienvenue dans la famille!

Last night a great group of us gathered at the Laundromat Café for our monthly Rotary AIP coffee night. Good coffee, good laughs, and genuinely good people.

Some members couldn't make it this time and a few others showed up after the photo was taken. The casualness of these coffee nights are perfect. No agenda, no formality, just members getting together to chat, catch up, and enjoy each other's company. It is also a wonderful way to learn more about who we are and what we do as a club.

Hier soir, un beau groupe d'entre nous s'est réuni au Laundromat Café pour notre soirée café mensuelle du Rotary AIP. Du bon café, de bons fous rires et de vraiment bonnes personnes.

Certains membres n'ont pas pu venir cette fois et d'autres sont arrivés après la photo. Le côté décontracté de ces soirées café est parfait. Pas d'ordre du jour, pas de formalités, juste des membres qui se retrouvent pour jaser, rattraper le temps perdu et profiter de la compagnie les uns des autres. C'est aussi une belle façon d'en apprendre davantage sur qui nous sommes et ce que nous faisons en tant que club.

Today, we pause to honour the survivors of residential schools, to remember the children who never came home, and to acknowledge the ongoing and intergenerational impacts of a painful chapter in Canadian history that we must never forget.

Reconciliation is not a single day. It is a commitment we make every day, in how we listen, how we learn, how we show up, and how we act. As a club rooted in Action, Inclusion, and Partnership, we recognize that true inclusion means reckoning honestly with our past and working together toward a future that is just and equitable for all.

Today we wear orange. We listen. We learn. We commit to doing better.
To every survivor, every family, and every Indigenous community: we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you. 🧡

Our hearts are absolutely full today! 💛This is what Rotary is really about, not just what we do *in the name of* Rotary, but who we are as
community members, showing up for our neighbors because we genuinely care. Rotary AIP couldn't be prouder of Sarah, for turning her special 19th anniversary into a gift for our whole community.

And this isn't a one-time thing, she does this *every single year*. That kind of consistency, that kind of heart, is rare and beautiful.

Food insecurity doesn't take a break, and neither does she. She understands that the quiet, in-between times — the ones without holiday spotlights — are often when help is needed most. Every meal provided, every bit of relief, makes a real difference.

Thank you, Sarah, for being exactly who you are. You don't just talk about our Club values — you *live* them, every single day: Action. Inclusion. Partnership. We are so lucky to call you one of ours. 🎉

Nos cœurs débordent de joie aujourd’hui ! 💛C’est ça, l’essence même du Rotary : ce n’est pas seulement ce que nous faisons « au nom » du Rotary, mais qui nous sommes en tant que membres de la communauté, en étant présents pour nos voisins parce que nous nous soucions sincèrement d’eux. Le Rotary AIP ne pourrait être plus fier de Sarah, qui a transformé son 19e anniversaire si spécial en un cadeau pour toute notre communauté.

Et ce n’est pas un geste ponctuel : elle le fait *chaque année*. Une telle constance, un tel dévouement, c’est rare et magnifique.

L’insécurité alimentaire ne prend pas de pause, et elle non plus. Elle comprend que ce sont souvent les moments calmes, entre deux, ceux qui ne sont pas sous les feux des projecteurs des fêtes, qui sont ceux où l’on a le plus besoin d’aide. Chaque repas offert, chaque geste de solidarité, fait une réelle différence.

Merci, Sarah, d’être exactement qui tu es. Tu ne te contentes pas de parler des valeurs de notre Club — tu les *vives*, jour après jour : Action. Inclusion. Partenariat. Nous avons tellement de chance de pouvoir te compter parmi nous. 🎉
