On this Thanksgiving weekend, we are still going strong thanks to our amazing volunteers. Today another 12500lbs of cabbage was harvested, along with 3000lbs of carrots and about 2000lbs of potatoes. We are trying to get ahead of the large rain coming this week, and we are thankful for the hearts and passion our volunteers have to bring in the harvest! Your dedication reflects Colossians 3:23 — “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”

We’re grateful for every person who supports us in person, or supports us financially. Galatians 6:9 “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest…”

We need your help! We are still short on our budget and our mission operates all year around. 5000 Farms is a non-profit Christian charity dedicated to growing food for the food security network in New Brunswick. Since 100 Percent of our crops are donated, 5000 Farms relies on the generosity and faith of our community to sustain this work.

Your financial contributions and prayers make a real difference. To learn more or to help you can go to our website at https://5000farms.ca/ or donate directly to [email protected] , or use https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/5000farms/

22,000 pounds of carrots and potatoes processed today and sent to Feed Nourrir NB. Many thanks to our hard working volunteers! Without you guys, we could not get the harvest out of the ground and into the food security network. Great Job!

🍂 Happy Thanksgiving weekend from 5000 Farms! 🍂

This weekend, many of us will gather around a full table. We're thankful for this year's harvest, for the volunteers who've been in the field all fall, and for everyone who has already given to DOUBLE THE HARVEST.

We also know not every table will be full. Hard seasons can reach any of us: rising costs, a lost job, a year that doesn't go as planned. Food bank visits in Canada have doubled since 2019.

That's why everything we grow is given away. The harvest enters the Feed NB network, which distributes food to more than 230 organizations across New Brunswick.

Until October 31st, every gift is matched dollar for dollar, thanks to long-standing supporters of 5000 Farms. A $100 gift becomes $200, enough to grow about 190 pounds of fresh vegetables. With matched giving, we've raised $13,340 so far! That's enough to grow about 12,700 pounds of fresh vegetables for families across New Brunswick.

📋 FARM REPORT from Teddy, Farm Supervisor

Last week, the crew picked 20,000 lbs of cabbage at Farm #2. I supervised from the top of the pile, where the view is best and the oversight is strongest.

That brings our 2026 harvest to 120,000 lbs so far, 40% of the way to our 300,000 lb goal. Every pound goes into the Feed NB network to feed neighbours across New Brunswick.

The crew did the lifting. I did the counting. Both jobs are important. 🐾

There's more cabbage still in the field, and we need your help to keep doing this work. We invite you to be part of the Double the Harvest campaign, on your own or as a team!

Despite a wet and delayed week, we ended yesterday with 9100 lbs of cabbage delivered to Feed Nourrir NB. So far that's 21,600 lbs. Another amazing turnout of our dedicated volunteers and we can't say enough how much their hard work and devotion is making this a harvest year to remember. We can't mention names here, but you know who you are, as does God. There'll be an update on total harvest lbs next week, but we are delighted with the cabbage and it still looks like 55-60,000 lbs will be harvested to help feed our communities! There are still carrots and potatoes and we are looking at this upcoming week as the opportunity to really make a dent on what's left.

Help us DOUBLE THE HARVEST! Our Fall 2026 giving campaign.
Thanks to long-standing supporters of 5000 Farms, every dollar given before October 31 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $35,000! So this fall, your gift can go twice as far toward helping people across New Brunswick.

We invite you to be part of it on your own or as a team!

Because behind every dollar and every pound of food is a person.
When Jesus looked at a hungry crowd, He turned to His disciples and said: "You give them something to eat." It was a call to respond to the need in front of them.

Today, there are people who need food. And together, we can feed them.

More than one in four New Brunswickers struggle to put food on the table. Fresh, nutritious food is often the hardest thing for them to get.

When Jesus saw a hungry crowd, He said, "Give them something to eat." So, in response to the need in the communities around us, 5000 Farms grows fresh vegetables on 45 acres and gives all of it away to families in need across New Brunswick.

The harvest enters the Feed Nourrir NB network, which distributes food to more than 230 organizations across New Brunswick, including food banks, shelters, and community kitchens.

Every dollar goes a long way: it costs $1.05 to grow a pound of fresh food that is worth $3.71 by the time it reaches a family's table.

This year our funding fell short, and we need your help.

Until October 31, every gift is doubled thanks to three local donors who provided $35,000 in matching funds for our Double the Harvest campaign.
→ $50 becomes $100 and grows about 95 pounds of fresh food
→ $100 becomes $200 and grows about 190 pounds

First day of Cabbage harvest and 12,600lbs delivered to Feed Nourrir NB! The crop is excellent and we are expecting between 55-60,000lbs once we finish. A big thank you to our volunteers who are making this happen. And thank you to Jolly Farmer Products who supported 5000 Farms to grow this crop!
