Despite a late start with much needed rain in May, 5000 Farms is moving ahead. The last week of dry and warm weather has allowed us to get some of the crops in and more to follow this week and next. Pictured below are some shots of tillage, planting corn and potatoes, as well everyone's favorite exercise of picking rocks - 35 tons so far.

5000 Farms is a non-profit Christian charity dedicated to growing food for the food security network in New Brunswick. Since our crops are donated, 5000 Farms relies on the generosity and faith of our community to sustain this work. Along with ongoing operating expenses, we must invest further in infrastructure this year to maintain and expand our impact.

5000 Farms is excited to prepare for another season of growing crops for the food security network. This year's goal is 300,000 lbs of produce and protein with chicken. This include corn, carrots, potatoes, onions, beans, cucumber, beets and cabbage this year.

This mission and all the food we raise and donate into the Atlantic Canadian food security network is thanks to local support. The cost of food, general inflation and food bank usage continue to grow across our country. The mission of 5000 Farms is to help support food security in Atlantic Canada. Protein is urgently needed across New Brunswick’s food security network.

Food Banks Canada and food banks across NB specifically identify protein as a crucial need. In 2026, 5000 Farms is planning on donating 16,000 servings of chicken and 300,000 pounds of vegetables through Feed Nourrir NB's food security network to help meet the rising demand across Atlantic Canada

For $19, $34 or $49 a month, you can help us grow this mission and ensure that those who are struggling receive food, dignity, and the reminder that they are not forgotten.

This past weekend’s snowfall was a reminder that at 5000 Farms, our tractors and Team are hard at work year-round.

From the fields in the growing season to snow blowing in the winter, our equipment is used each season to help support the mission. Every dollar earned from our snow-blowing operations goes directly back into the farm and helps us continue growing food for those who need it most.

The cost of food, general inflation and food bank usage continue to grow across our country. The mission of 5000 Farms is to help support food security in Atlantic Canada. Every pound of food we raise is given to those who otherwise cannot afford it. We are a nonprofit, CRA-registered Christian charity planning to grow over 300,000 lbs. of food-- to distribute into the food security network this year.

To do this, we need to raise $200,000, a big goal that becomes completely possible when many hearts join in. And when we do, that support multiplies into more than $800,000 worth of food placed into food banks and food missions across our province. It’s loaves‑and‑fishes work, and we see God multiply it every season.

For $20, $35, $50, or $100 a month, you can help us grow this mission and ensure that those who are struggling receive food, dignity, and the reminder that they are not forgotten. Together, we can lighten the load for thousands and give them a helping hand.
