The new Pedestrian Crossover is now open! This will be a much safer way for pedestrians to access and enjoy our downtown 🙌🏼

A safer way to cross Ontario St. is here! The new Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) at St. Andrew St. is officially open.🦺
Here’s how to use it:
🚶‍➡️Pedestrians should use the push button to activate the signal and avoid mid‑block crossings.
❗Always ensure it’s safe — eye contact with drivers helps confirm they see you.
🚗Drivers must stop when lights are flashing and someone is waiting to cross.
🛑Remain stopped until the pedestrian has completely crossed.

Big news for small businesses across Ontario 👏

The Province is cutting the small business tax rate from 3.2% to 2.2% - a more than 30% reduction.

That means up to $5,000 back into the pockets of small business owners each year 💰

For Main Streets, this matters. It means more ability to:

New pedestrian crossing coming in Downtown Mitchell!

🚧 Work Underway on New Pedestrian Crossing

Construction has begun on a new pedestrian crossing at St. Andrew St. and Ontario Rd. in downtown Mitchell. This improvement will help enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians in the area.

Please note that the crossing guard will continue to assist children across the road in the morning and afternoon during this work.
