Supporting a child in hospital also means caring for the family beside them. đź’™

SMILE’s Hospital Support Program provides practical and emotional support to families during their child’s hospital stay, including during end-of-life care.

We’re grateful to Zamzam for sharing her family’s experience and what this support has meant to them.
This year-end, we’re inviting you to become a monthly donor so more families can count on this care.

Provide comfort, every month.

SMILE Canada is excited to be attending the 19th World Congress of the World Association for Infant Mental Health (WAIMH)!

Taking place in Toronto from October 2–6, 2026, this year’s Congress brings together professionals, researchers, clinicians, community organizations, and advocates from around the world under the theme:
“Harmony in Diversity: Nurturing the Youngest Minds Around the World.”

The Congress provides an important opportunity to exchange research, clinical and practice knowledge, lived experiences, and diverse cultural perspectives related to infant and early childhood mental health.

At SMILE Canada, culturally responsive and inclusive family support is at the heart of our work. We’re looking forward to learning from leaders and professionals in the field, building new connections, and taking part in conversations about how we can better support the mental health and well-being of young children, caregivers, and families across diverse communities.

We’re excited for a few days of learning, connection, and collaboration at WAIMH 2026!
