Since April, our Thrive volunteers have participated in two Earth Day community clean-ups, provided graphic design and online support for non-profits, assisted with event planning and delivery, and launched a meaningful intergenerational project interviewing and recording seniors about their life experiences, and lessons to share with future generations.

Along the way, volunteers have strengthened their public speaking skills, confidence, and knowledge through weekly workshops on business and leadership, newcomer and elder information, and health and wellness practices.

We are proud of the dedication and compassion our volunteers bring to each opportunity. Thank you for showing up with a positive attitude. Your participation helps our community THRIVE!

This Earth Day, we’re reminded that building a healthy, sustainable community starts with individuals. 🌍💚

At the Social Planning Council of Peel, we believe environmental well-being is deeply connected to social equity, community resilience, and quality of life. We will continue to work towards a greener, more inclusive world by elevating Indigenous voices, leading community action, and encouraging appreciation and respect for nature in all of the people we work with.

We want to recognize our many practicum students who are wrapping up their placements this week. Each of them has contributed their time and energy to something bigger than themselves. Their passion and new perspectives have made a real impact on our team and the communities we serve.

Congratulations to all our Thrive graduates and students finishing their placements—we’re so excited to see what’s next for you!
