It is with heavy hearts that we share that Sadie (formerly Breeze) has crossed the rainbow bridge🌈💜

Shortly after her adoption, routine bloodwork revealed that Sadie had what appeared to be cancer. While this was unexpected and heartbreaking, Sadie’s family faced it with incredible love, strength, and positivity. Together, they made the most of every day.

And what a beautiful life Sadie had in her forever home!

The shy cat who once struggled to be noticed blossomed into a confident, beloved family member. Sadie let go of her timid side, claimed her place as the alpha of the house, and even became friends with the family dog (which was an unexpected match) 🐾

When the time came to say goodbye earlier this week, Purrfect Seniors was honoured to cover the cost of Sadie’s euthanasia so that her family could focus on surrounding her with love. We are also grateful to Real Trooper Cat Rescue, who were there for Sadie’s family every step of the way.

Stories like this are incredibly sad, but we hope they don't discourage anyone from adopting a senior cat. The reality is that none of us know how much time we'll have with a pet of any age. When Angela and her family opened their hearts to an overlooked senior cat, Sadie got to have a home to call her own for the first time in her life.

Another happy update! ✨

Sisters 10-year-old Chanel (formerly Luminelle) and 7-year-old Coco (formerly Velmira) were adopted from Dogwood Animal Rescue a few weeks ago. Their family shares that they are settling in very well and they believe the girls are realizing that this is their new, forever home. We’re so happy that they got adopted together! 💜

Purrfect Seniors sponsored Chanel's adoption fee and will be sponsoring her annual vet visit and vaccinations on an ongoing basis. We're thrilled to have played a part in this story!

Introducing Monkey! 🐒

This sweet 11-year-old torbie may be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she becomes an incredibly affectionate and devoted friend. She loves spending time close to her people, greeting them when they come home, and having long "conversations" throughout the day. Her favourite things include cozy naps, face rubs, crunchy treats, and simply being near the humans she loves.

Monkey is currently under the care of Dogwood Animal Rescue. She is looking for a loving home where she can be the only pet.

Our hearts are so full today as we share that sweet Mia has gone home with her forever mom. 💜

When Mia came into rescue, her world had been turned upside down. At over 13 years old, she was surrendered after her beloved senior owner experienced a medical situation that made it impossible for her to continue caring for her.

Despite all the changes, Mia never stopped being the loving, affectionate girl we came to adore. She greeted us with purrs, cuddles, and her signature lap-cat devotion while navigating a whole new chapter of life.

Along the way, we discovered that Mia was still intact and had spent her entire life experiencing heat cycles. At her age, that made her spay surgery especially important for her long-term health and comfort. Now spayed, vaccinated, and surrounded by love, we're hopeful she can enjoy a healthier, happier future as she settles into a new hormonal balance and a new life.

Today marks two years since Purrfect Seniors officially begun!

At this time last year, we were just about to celebrate our second sponsored adoption. Since then, we've sponsored 25 more cats through our program, helping them find loving homes while continuing to support their ongoing needs. We've also welcomed several more cats into the program who are still waiting to find their forever homes. Additionally, we've been able to help 9 cats outside of our program when they needed support most.

Over the past year, we've become a registered charity, expanded our collaborations from one shelter to five, grown our volunteer team, hosted fundraisers, and continued working toward a future where more senior cats can find loving homes.

To our Board of Directors, thank you for your leadership, dedication, and countless hours spent helping guide and grow Purrfect Seniors. As we've expanded over the past year, you've taken on new responsibilities and helped build a stronger foundation for our future.

To our volunteers, thank you for sharing your time, talents, and passion with us. Whether you've helped at events, supported fundraisers, assisted behind the scenes, or spread awareness about our mission, your contributions make a real difference.

To the shelters we work with, thank you for the care and dedication you show the cats in your care every day. We are grateful to work alongside you to support senior cats and help them get the second chance they deserve.

To our adopters, thank you for seeing the value in senior cats. By opening your homes to cats who are often overlooked, you've given them comfort, companionship, and the loving retirement they deserve. The happy endings we celebrate belong to you as much as they do to us.

To our donors, thank you for believing in senior cats and in us. Your generosity allows us to provide ongoing support for adopted cats and gives adopters the confidence to welcome them into their families. Every sponsored adoption, care plan, and cat we've helped is possible because of your support.

Meet Maisie! ✨

This beautiful 10-year-old tabby is ready to find a patient, loving family to spend her golden years with.

Maisie is a gentle, affectionate girl whose personality shines brighter every day once she feels comfortable. She loves chatting with her people, relaxing by the window, and curling up for a cozy nap after a play session with her favourite toys 💜

Despite having no teeth, Maisie doesn't let anything slow her down and happily enjoys her meals and treats just like any other cat.

One of Maisie's sweetest qualities is her loving nature. She enjoys spending time with her foster brother and would likely do well in a home with another friendly cat after a proper introduction.

Maisie is currently under the care of Dogwood Animal Rescue.

It’s now been 450 days that Pumpkin and Milo have been waiting for someone to choose them. After their owner passed away and they were scheduled to be euthanized, Arthur Animal Rescue stepped in to save them, and they have be waiting to be adopted since.

Recently, we got some exciting news — they had an adoption application!! We were hopeful that they were finally going to get the happy ending they deserve, but the adoption fell through at the last minute 😿

Our hearts hurt for them, but we know their future family is out there. Luckily, they’ve been in a wonderful foster home since the start, so there is no rush or concern in that sense.

To help these boys find their forever home, Purrfect Seniors is sponsoring both of their adoption fees plus helping with the ongoing costs of their medications.

If you can't adopt, please consider sharing their story. After all these days of waiting, we would love nothing more than to see Pumpkin and Milo finally head home 💜

These handsome boys are sadly seeking another home as their family is moving at the end of the month. They are bonded brothers who have been together their whole lives. Finney (brown & white) is very affectionate once he gets to know you. Casey is more shy, but is affectionate as well. Both are well tempered and easy going 🐾

Health information: both neutered, not UTD on vaccines, no known health issues

The cats get along great with the family’s dog. Their experience with other cats is not known.
