"There's a revolution that needs to happen and it starts from inside each one of us.
We need to wake up and fall in love with the Earth.
Our personal and collective happiness and survival depend on it."
- Thich Nhat Hanh

Join us for our Park & Shoreline Cleanup event in honour of Earth Day, happening this Saturday at Jack Darling Memorial Park (info in the previous post). And kindly register to confirm attendance❣️

And there are many other Earth Day events and opportunities this week to connect with nature, to care for the environment so that it can continue to care for us as well❣️

Earth Day is just one day.
So, in what ways can we intentionally build and sustain a healthy relationship with the Earth?

Even if we start today, and even if we do one thing each day (e.g., recycle 1 piece of litter), and even if it's just in one little area, it all makes a positive impact for our collective future❣️

So, keep remembering our relationship with the Earth❣️

And keep giving kindness❣️

We're back with our first park and shoreline cleanup of the year❣️
In honour of Earth Day (April 22nd), our event will take place on Saturday, April 25th, beginning at 11:30am.

We have a few activities planned, for which you can win prizes❣️
So, it'll be a fun day overall.

Please note: this event will occur rain or shine❣️

Spring is the season of renewal and for that to happen, rain is so important.
But, please check the weather ahead of time to make sure you're covered as needed.

And be sure to swipe to the 2nd page of this post for more information on how to prepare for the event.

If you'll be making it, kindly message us to confirm attendance❣️

Earth is our home and provider of all the life-giving resources we need. Its condition also impacts us. And Jack Darling Memorial Park is a crucial area to protect for many reasons, including constant pollution due to how popular it is in the community, and its location along Lake Ontario as well as Rattray Marsh Conservation Area.

Let's do what we can to keep our local natural areas as healthy as we can.
Together in community, we can do wonders❣️

We can't wait to see you there❣️

Keep giving kindness❣️

Today is Giving Tuesday, but everyone deserves kindness every day, and there are always even small ways to be giving and kind❣️

At our last park cleanup in October, our volunteers all reflected on ways we can spread more positivity and kindness in our daily lives. We challenged ourselves to take the little extra time and effort to show up kindly for the world around us in every moment going forward, which includes acts of self-love (it is kind to fill one's own cup to even begin giving to others)❣️

Before the year ends, do you have any resolutions on how you can also spread and encourage kindness more?
Are there any shared here by our volunteers that you relate to more or may see yourself using?

It's Giving Tuesday and we're highlighting our last park cleanup we hosted in October, when a group of us came together to give back to our community and environment❣️
We thank all the volunteers who came out that day, to our past cleanups, and everyone who also wished to join and who sent us well wishes throughout it all❣️

It was evident that people were making use of the last bit of warm weather because there was quite a lot of piles of garbage littered around the park. Our volunteers were amazing and helped clean a lot of it, with bright smiles and laughs the whole time❣️

We had a special treat for everyone as well afterward where the volunteers played a trivia game to win prizes. We asked questions about Jack Darling Memorial Park, pertinent to our time cleaning up, such as:
What important wetland is situated adjacent to this park (and is a huge reason we chose to adopt this park)?
Comment below if you know the answer.
Swipe through the slides to see more of the trivia fun❣️

We hope you enjoyed this year's cleanups and posts❣️
And we hope to offer more opportunities to clean up our precious local green spaces in 2026❣️

See the next post for more KIND content from October's cleanup🥰

The park and shoreline cleanup we hosted earlier this month was so rewarding, productive, and fun as always❣️
Thank you to our volunteers who were so diligent in picking up as much litter as they could, while also taking some dance breaks (seen in the previous post)❣️

This time, we asked our volunteers to share some of the more uncommon or strange items they cleaned up.
Besides the answers they gave in these videos, other items cleaned (especially on the beach) included tiny medicine pills, floss picks, confetti pieces, and an abundance of microplastics.

Story time: We also found a child's sand scooping toy, which we were able to rehome to be Reused by passing it along to a mother and child who were playing on the beach at the time and were happy to have it.

It was a special moment, seeing as this interaction sparked the child to ask many questions about what we were doing..."why were we picking up garbage? Why don't other people clean their garbage? Can we help pick up garbage, too?"
And, it was encouraging to hear the supportive answers from the mother.

It goes to show that good and bad habits, even regarding environmental stewardship, begin in these formative years of a child's life when they're soaking in all the knowledge they can and looking to others around them who mould and model their world.

And along with directly improving the environment's condition by cleaning the park, we also directly saw how it impacts and inspires others around us.
It's a great "natural" community builder❣️

It makes us so happy to see the difference we can make with these cleanups, and we hope you can join in as well for our next one coming soon❣️

We are so thankful for the support we received at the park cleanup last weekend❣️

We asked our volunteers to contemplate a question while picking up litter, and we are posing this to you as well:

"So far this year, what are you proud of yourself for doing that helps the environment?

And for the remainder of the year, how can you improve upon your efforts towards environmental sustainability?"

Our volunteer and co-founder, Geev, gave his answer seen in this post's video.

Another volunteer said that as a condo residents, they are aware of the building's program for garbage, recycling, and organic waste disposal.
So, going forward, they will start separating their garbage, recycling and organics into different bins in their condo and make use of this program their building has.

If you missed this cleanup, please note that we are hosting another event this coming Sunday, September 14th at 10am at Jack Darling Park.

Please message to confirm your attendance❣️
We hope to see you there for another rewarding morning cleaning up the park and lake shoreline❣️

Hi Kindness family❣️
It's been a while, but we're back with some more park clean-ups.

Come out on Sunday, August 31st for a morning dedicated to keeping this vital natural space clean, for all life to continue enjoying it.
It's always a fun and relaxing time with amazing lakefront views.

Jack Darling Memorial Park is along the shoreline of Lake Ontario and is also beside Rattray Marsh, so we are also helping to protect them by cleaning the park.

If you are interested, please do send us a message so we can prepare enough cleaning supplies and snacks, and to let you know where we'll be at the park.

Also, as it's a busier park, it is advised to aim to arrive for 9:30am if you need to park, as the parking lots fill up quickly.

We hope to see you then❣️

You never really know the true impact you have on those around you .
You never know how much someone needed that smile you gave them .
You never know how much your kindness turned someone's entire life around .
You never know how much someone needed that long hug or deep talk .
So don't wait to be kind . Don't wait for someone else to be kind first .
Don't wait for better circumstances or for someone to change .
Just be kind , because you never know how much someone
needs it ..

Happy 2025, kindness family❣️

We thank you all for your support last year and look forward to more opportunities this year to join our communities to spread love and kindness together❣️

We find that the little acts of kindness in our daily lives amount to some of the biggest blessings, and they are always worth the extra little time and effort❣️

Here's wishing you all an abundance of those blessings and the courage to be kind whenever possible...remember, it begins with ourselves❣️

And please note that we are continuing to collect donations for our Winter Essentials Drive throughout the colder winter months.
Kindly refer to our post previously about that and message for more details❣️

#2025

Hi, Kindness family❣️

We're posting this late, but it's still technically Autumn and before the new year, even though it's getting much colder now here.
Hopefully you're all staying safe, warm, and happy❣️

We're calling today to thank everyone who participated (in person or in spirit 😁) in our park clean-ups❣️
Between April and September, our volunteers worked thoroughly and enthusiastically monthly to pick up various forms of litter in Jack Darling Memorial Park and JC Saddington Park. Rain or shine, we managed to collect lots of litter❣️

And, we have more exciting news❣️ Officially, Jack Darling Memorial Park has been adopted by Giving Kindness, so you might see our name posted there if you visit❣️

Taking a moment to reflect on our success, here are some messages from our volunteers on what they are proud of achieving this year and what they look forward to accomplishing in our near future❣️

Currently and going into the colder months of 2025, we are running our yearly Winter Essentials Drive (as our co-founder Khateja mentions in the 2nd slide here), to try to aid as much as we can with the ever-growing demand of those in need in the Greater Toronto Area.
Please refer to our previous post for details on this❣️

We are excited to resume our Jack Darling Park clean-ups in Spring 2025. Follow us if you would like to be notified of when we are recruiting volunteers, or if you would like to know any of our current and future initiatives.

Reflecting on 2024, what are some things you're proud of from this year?
And what are you looking forward to in the new year?

Whatever your goals may be, please keep giving kindness to yourself and the world around you❣️
