Last day for online registration for the inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival Sunday February 1st 2026 at Eganridge Resort 26 Country Club drive Kawartha Lakes.

Start time of the snowshoe evehts is 10am
Start time for the trail shoe events id 11am.
The weather man is calling for good winter weather.
All race participants get a Snowshoe Canada buff, finishers souvenir, hot buffet gourmet lunch, lots of draw prizes.
Lots of custom cedar plaques and medals being handed out to over winners and the age groupers.
Prize money available in the 10k snowshoe only

The inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival is coming up Sunday February 1st 2026 at 10 am at Egandridge Resort Fenelon Falls Ontario.
Snowshoe and trail shoe events on the resort golf course in the morning followed by family fun events in the afternoon.
All runners get a custom Snowshoe Canada buff, finishers souvenir drink coaster and a gourmet hot buffet lunch in thr resort club house.

The Snowshoe Canada champions trophy will be presented along with a prize purse totaling $1000 for the 10k snowshoe main event.

Family events include
Tobagganing, snowman building, snowmobile rides, maple syrup tasting and a special demonstration by the Fleming College Logger Sports Team.

Winter is here and the snowshoe racing season is about to begin.

The first race of Dion Canadian Snowshoe Series is January 11th in Nobelton, Ontario
Competition for the Dion Cup will begin.

The Canadian Championships of snowshoe running is Sunday February 1st at Eganridge Resort Fenelon Falls Ontario.

The championships will be part of the inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival.
This will be a fun day of outdoor athletic events and family fun activities.
The championship trophy will be presented to the male abd female short and long course winners.

Prices increase Monday January 5th for all the running/walking events.

The inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival presented by Snowshoe Canada will be held at Eganridge Resort near Fenelon Falls Ontario on Sunday February 1st 10 am.
This one day event will include some snowshoe running/walking and trail shoe running/walking on the resort golf course in the morning followed by a hot gourmet lunch and awards in the resort club house.
The annnual champions trophy will be presented along with $1000 prize purse to the overall winners.
The afternoon we will be featuring some family fun activities including tobogganing, snowman making, snowmobile rides and maple syrup tasting.
A wonderful warming bonfire will be happening on the resorts outdoor front patio along with live music playing in the resort bar.
Late fall registration pricing for the running/walking events has been extended to December 31st.

Early bird registration for the inaugural Kawartha Lakes Winter Festival presented by Snowshoe Canada ends tonight at midnight.

The event date is Sunday February 1st 10am at Eganridge Resort Fenelon Falls Ontario.

Snowshoe and trail shoe running events on groomed trails on the resort 9 hole golf course , delicious hot lunch in the resort chalet, then some fun family outdoor winter activities in the afternoon. Live music to top off the day.

The Snowshoe Canada champions trophy will be presented to the male and female champions.
$1000 prize purse to the top three men and women in the 10k main event.

The 2024-2025 snowshoe season has concluded for another successful year.
A total of seven races in Dion Canada Snowshoe Series were sanctioned and supported by Snowshoe Canada.
Over 300 participants attended in Ontario, Quebec and Whitehorse Yukon.
The winners of the Dion Cup points race were Bernie Hogan and Lisa Leskien.
Derek Gillard attended the most races and was awarded the Frosty Foot award.
Thanks to Derek Spafford of Spafford Helath and Adventure for his assistance.

The Canadian Snowshoe Championships were held in Boischatel, Quebec as part of the annual Snownergie event.
This was also part of the Dion series.
The winners were Evelyne Ouellet and Julien Pinsonneault in the short course and Julie Canton and David Savard Gagnon in the long course.
Congrats to all those that participated.

The 2025-2026 season registration will open in early fall.
