Ignition An organization at UTM for students interested in aiding in the mobilization and unity of communitie

Ignition’s purpose is to create events and programs that promote and reinforce community mobilization and unity by challenging systemic oppression and implementing development initiatives within marginalized and underprivileged groups in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Amongst other goals, dispelling negative conceptions of people perpetuated by stereotypes in media and society is one of our major

aims. We are also committed to challenging communal issues in a number of ways: by way of educational and informative discussions amongst students, and by creating positive and open platforms of artistic expression for the many artistic voices of UTM. We aim to raise funds through our numerous events that will be given to a different charity in the GTA. We also seek to support local youth leaders and entertainers to engage, showcase and collaborate within Ignition’s future events and programs.
