Happy World Bee Day!

Pollinators play a critical role in our food system. Bees are responsible for pollinating many of the fruits, vegetables, and herbs we grow, as well as crops like clover and alfalfa that support livestock production. In urban environments, gardens can become important habitats for pollinators. Planting a diversity of flowers, choosing native species, and reducing pesticide use are all simple ways to support them. Ecosource’s garden spaces are part of a larger ecosystem that supports biodiversity, pollinators, and community learning.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at Rockwood Mall last month for a day of hands-on learning and community connection 💚🌱 Thank you to BGO for inviting us! Ecosource was excited to support a “Plant-a-Seed” activation, where visitors had the chance to pot their own seeds and learn simple ways to start growing at home. From herbs like basil and to pollinator-friendly flowers like marigolds, it was inspiring to see people of all ages get their hands in the soil and take a step toward growing their own food and supporting local ecosystems 🌼

Happening today! Join us for a discussion with Professor Lisa Myers of York University.

This session will offer educators different approaches and content to move students beyond simplified or romanticized ideas of Indigenous relationships to land. Grounded in Anishinaabe perspectives, this talk introduces ways to teach land as relational, political, and shaped by ongoing realities in Canada.

This webinar is part of Ecosource’s Advanced Teacher Training Program: Approaches to Educating for a Just and Sustainable Future. Registration for this module gives you access to the remaining modules and any resources shared.

Please note - you do not need to be a teacher to attend.

See link in bio to register or email [email protected] for more information.

We’re so grateful to have been part of something powerful 💚

Ecosource recently joined David & Tara's Stronger Together Tour in Mississauga where the David Suzuki Foundation along with community partners hosted a community dialogue on climate resilience, connection, and collective care. The event featured inspiring voices like David Suzuki, Tara Cullis, Lidia Ferreira, and Mili Roy, who brought the community together to explore how we can better prepare for climate emergencies.

As extreme weather events continue to become more frequent, conversations like these are more important than ever. It was inspiring to see community members come together to share knowledge, uplift local solutions, and strengthen networks of mutual support, ensuring no one is left behind 🌎

We were also grateful to connect with so many of you at our table, share resources, and engage in meaningful conversations about climate action and community care 🌱

Let’s keep the momentum going and continue working toward a more connected and climate-ready future together.
