UEC Conference

UEC Conference On January 16, 2016, get ready to make a difference! This annual conference will focus it's aim on discussing a current trend in global economics and politics.

The Undergraduate Economics Council in collaboration with UTMSU Ministry of Academic Affairs proudly presents the UEC Conference (UECC). This year the Conference topic is the Emerging Markets. UECC will consist of 2 parts; first part is a panel discussion on economic policies between Ambassadors coming from Ottawa, students will be able to ask relevant questions and personally talk to them during

a coffee session. The second part will consist of a competition. Students can either register individually and be assigned to a group by UEC or a student can apply as a group of 3-5 with their friends (needs to be sepecified on the payment page). The groups are highly encouraged to do research prior to the Conference. They will first discuss and strategize about their country’s economic problem as a group, then each country will engage in multilateral talks with other country groups, in order to create trade agreements that will aim to solve both country’s problem. On January 19, groups will present their solutions to a panel of judges. The winning group will be awarded $1,000 and most importantly, the solution will be compiled and sent to the World Bank and IMF Headquarters. UECC will give you a chance to make a difference in the world.
